These are the calorie calculations that my recipe program came up with for the calories. By no means I am sure many of us can eat as much as they say a full serving is. It is very good if you like beef, mushrooms and onions.

4 #s | beef chuck - cut in 2" pieces | |
1/2 Cup | flour | |
2 Tbls | salt - I found to be too much | |
2 teas | Paprika | |
1 teas | pepper - I found to be too much (try 1/2 teas or less) | |
10-12 sml | onions - peeled | |
4 strips | bacon - cut in sml pieces | |
1 # | mushrooms - fresh | |
1 (12oz) | can beer | |
1 teas | sugar | |
1 tbls | vinegar | |
1/2 teas | oregano | |
1/2 teas | marjoram | |
1 | bay - leaf | |
Shake beef cubes with flour, salt, paprika and pepper in a paper sack (more than likely you can use a Zip Lock bag and dispose of it). Place onions, bacon and half of the mushrooms in a slow cooker. Add floured beef and remaining mushrooms. Mix beer w/sugar, vinegar, oregano, marjoram and bay leaf. pour into a slow cooker. Cover and cook on low heat 8-10 hours. Serve over noodles, rice or plain. Makes 6-8 servings. If thicker gravy is desired make a smooth paste of 3 Tbls flour mixed with 1/2 cup water | ||
