Good Afternoon.

I left home early this morning, so I could go to Walmart, before work. I needed a gift for a  4 year old.

I was not near any tv or radio, so DH called me and let me know that we lost. I am really sorry, since I too was looking forward to being able to go to at least 1 event.

Our agenda for this weekend is fun. We are going out tonight with friends, going to a chili /hotdog night at Monica V's tomorrow evening, and a birthday party on Sunday afternoon at the park. I am taking pumpkin squares tomorrow night.

This afternoon, I want to clean one bedroom, so I can pass that by tomorrow, Then finish everything else. A normal weekend.

Have a great afternoon and evening. Stay dry.

Hugs,
Lisa

It's a wet and disappointing afternoon!  I am so bummed that we didn't get the bid and shocked that we went out in the first round.  Unbelievable.

I am in the final stretch for my surgery.  I got my packet of info from the Kane Center.  I have to make an appt. with a pulmonologist, ultrasound, pre-surgical education and dietary instruction.  I have the dietary instruction appt. already.

I'm heading out for play rehearsal tonight and then again on Sunday.  On Saturday, the church I work at is having a resale.  :)

Well, I know there is a disappointment of not having the Olympic 2016 here in Chi-town but I have a different approach to it.

There is a proudness of having the event to happen here  - but -  I do not think that many realize what goes into holding an event like this here locally (Chicago) and in the collar counties. Cost wise the price tag comes down on the tax payers shoulders (eventually to the rest of the state because Chi-town would have cried over the cost in the long run) when the IOC or the Feds sign off on the costs. . . The City of Chicago was already signing off on contracts without them even going out to bid AND the city had not even been awarded the honor of hosting the event. I guess they call it "Crook County" for a reason.

So, there are two sides to every story. I know for a fact that the collar counties would have had the fall out of the event and it would have been a burden (law enforcement wise).

I will get off of my soap box now.
