Well, I just paged again, got a nurse and she was like "Wait, when did you get here?!" I said 8pm and it's now 9pm. She failed to hang up with me and I was sitting here listening to her argue with the original tech "Why the hell didn't you tell me Serlick was here?! I'm suppose to call her doctor when she got here!"

this hospital has got issues...of all hospitals I hate this one the most. But my surgeon requires me to come here....

Make sure your doctor performs a CAT scan to ensure that you don't have an abcess around your stomach or near the surgery site.  I had one and had the same symptons as you.  Anything I ate made my stomach hurt and it got to the point where I couldn't take in water.  My saliva would make me dry heave and throw up nothing.  It's worth him checking.

I will keep you lifted up in prayer.

I know you wanted to talk with a therapist about the depresison you are (rightfully) experiencing. Here's a thought..do they have a psychologist on staff at the hospital? Maybe you can also talk to someone while you're there and they can simply "throw it on your bill."

After all, you're there, anyway, right?

Dear Heather:
I am hoping that by now, you have gotten your IV and some nutrition in you and are feeling a bit better.
I wish you better days ahead.

It's 4am and I am still in the hospital (I can't sleep!). My PICC Line was inserted today and they started my nutrition bags at midnight. I am already feeling better but I worry about what will happen once I go home. I have 5 IV Bags hooked up to me at the moment. 2 For the Full Nutrients, 1 for fluids, 1 for Nexium (to help heal my ulcer), and 1 for the antibiotic for my severe UTI. My arm is so tender because I have 4 different lines dangling from my PICC in my arm.

I asked to speak to the social worker on staff at the hospital and I broke down and cried my eyes out saying how I HATE that is got to the point where I was so desperate that I did WLS. Her response: "So demand to have it reversed!" I was like ummm.....THAT is your great advise for me? The lady clearly didn't have any knowledge of my surgery so I basically just shut up until she left.

The thing that upsets me the most right now is I have given up so much these past 10 weeks. Cancelled night's out with family & friends, etc and now I will be missing my entire weekend which just happens to be my 10 year highschool reunion. It looks like at this point I am going home Monday.

They are doing another Endoscopy to open up my stricture more tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to that because the one from Monday made my gagging worse.

My surgeon said what I'm experiencing only happens to 4% of the RNY WLS population. Lucky me....

Thank you everyone for your support and I will update again later tomorrow. More then anything, I need to know if this is going to be an ongoing issue, basically, I'm afraid I'll go home and still not be able to eat. I'm being sent home with the PICC in just incase I have to come back. Joy.

Please realize all this nausea and such, CAN be caused by the severe UTI, it's an infection in your body after all.
Also, have they checked you for anemia? I've struggled with this for the past few months and it makes me soo nauseous and dizzy and like I can't stand the smells of certain things.
