Admitted to the hospital for malnutrition...

So I called Dr. Siegel after spending most of today throwing up / gagging and begged him on the phone to help me. That I've become so weak and lethargic I can barely move and he decided to admit me to the hospital for malnutrition. Not sure how long I'll be there but hopefully they work with me to get over this fear of eatting. It's now become psycological where all I have to do is look or smell food and I start dry heaving / foaming.

I can barely take care of myself and I'm afraid of what will happen if this continues down the same path.

I will be heading there in about a hour, they have a room ready for me.....

I just got settled in. Hubby set up my laptop and now I'm waiting for the nurse to show for the IV. I am absolutely freezing and I have a feeling I'm going to be miserable here. I caught a wiff of food as we were walking to my room and almost starting throwing up. Why are smells of food so horrible to me all the sudden???

Heather, I am not sure what is the reason that you are having a sensitivity to food smells right now. Maybe it is an inbalance in your "chemicals" in your body. All of your body systems are not totally in working order right now due to not being able to get proper nutrition into it.

I can relate right at the moment with the problem of "smells" I am having issues with some foods etc. I will not go into it because I do not want you to feel ill from my descriptions. Just know that I am there with you my dear and can sympathize.

Make sure the nurses make you comfy with extra blankets. What you are going through is common because you have not had the proper food into your body to regulate all of its systems.

Well, I've been sitting in the room for over a hour now still waiting for a nurse to show up to start my IV. They gave me one gown so my back and ass are freezing and my husband specifically requested more blankets for me before he left a hour ago and I have yet to see anyone but the original tech that took my vitals.

This just keeps getting better.....

Have him go find another gown for you to put on as a robe (covering your backside) and then have him pilfer more blankies for you.

Hi Heather. Sorry to hear that you are still under the weather and had to be hospitalized.

Hopefully by now. you got your IV and got settled.

Take it easy and get some rest. Once you get some fluids in, you should feel better.

Nope, still waiting on those IV's, my gown, and blankets. I've paged the nurse 3 times in the past hour....they know I'm here....no idea what they are doing....

This is awful. You should ask to see the nursing supervisor. There's no excuse for not being taken care of.

I hate hospitals - and I work in one! I don't make the best patient because I don't take things for granted and will and have opened my mouth when I don't get the care I should be getting.

Aw, I feel bad for you. I'm sure you rather be at home.
