I'm approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
See, all I had to do was whine a little yesterday and things happen! Seriously, I was going to start making phone calls to my insurance company because I have been waiting 39 days, today, for approval. Then, Maggie from the Kane Center calls to tell me I'm approved! yea! I have to do all the pre-op testing for the surgeon before I get a date, I think.

Thank you! What other drs. did you have to see beforehand? Rantis had mentioned the pulmonologist at the first meeting last October. I think he also mentioned a sleep study. Maggie said that she needs to get the approval letter from insurance and then she would send me info about what things I need to do, like pulmonologist.

I got a letter in the mail that listed all of the things that I needed to do before they would give me a date.
I had to get an ultrasound of my gallbladder
I had to see the pulmonologist - he did not require a sleep study or stress test because I do not have any sleeping issues
I had to attend a post surgical nutrition class at either SAMC or ABMC
I had to attend a group therapy session that was at either SAMC or ABMC ($10 fee for that one)
And that was it. I was able to get all that done within 3 weeks. The longest wait was the pulmonologist because they fill up with appointments fast.

Congrats Sue.
Just some advice, keep checking with Maggie to make sure they have all their documentation. You'd be surprised that with the psychological evaluation that is done in their own office, the report takes so long to get dictated. That is what happened with me. One call to find out they didn't have my psych consult evaluation, then once that was there, they were missing my nutritional class confirmation - that I did a long time ago.
Then once everything was in, I kept getting a delay with the surgery date. They tell me that the one who does the surgery scheduling at Alexian was on vacation and it would take a couple of days to get a date. I said that is not so, as I work in a hospital and there are others who can schedule surgeries. Once that was said, I got my date the same day.
Just saying that you have to keep on it with the office until you get your date.
Maybe the processes have improved since I had my surgery.
