Good luck!!
Well, if you want to lose weight and keep it off, yes, you should low-carb.
Every weight loss surgery--even the DS which allows me to enjoy tons of fat--requires us to be low-carb.
As to actual numbers, it's all guesswor****il you figure out what your body likes. During the first six months after my surgery, I ate 30g of carbs or less each day. The weight fell off. After 6 months, the carbs steadily inched up--candy and bread crept in and came to stay.
Now I have lost 200 pounds, I am at goal and I eat whatever carbs I want. I'll bet I eat about 2,500-3,000 calories a day and about 200g of carbs. I assume that the free ride will end some day and I will have to scale back on the carbs. Until then, yum!
