Sugar free Ice Cream/Sugar Free Pudding?? (XPost RNY & Illinois)
I did not really try it because I thought that the protein content (the actual SF ice cream you can buy or SF pudding you can make from a box) was too low and there really was not any nutritional value to it unless you add protein powder to it.
There are protein ice cream recipes that you can make yourself. Maybe one of the other ladies will post what they know about it. I think possibly Nancy and/or Lisa have made their own protein ice cream.

A protein icecream recipe would be great!!!
To answer your question, I eat have sugar free fudgsicles and popsicles. They had not given me a problem. I did have a sugar free popsicle about a month or so out. I didn't have the fudgesicle until a few months out.
I find them a nice treat if I have a taste for something sweet or for some chocolate.

I make sugar free pudding quire a bit. I usually add protein powder to it, but sometimes, it is just a good dessert.
One of the only times I dumped was on sugar free/fat free ice cream from the ice cream shop. I probably would have been OK if I would have stuck to the 1/4 cup 1st serving, but it was SO good, I went back and had another 1/4 cup. I was SO sick.....shaking, dizzy, etc.....I had to go sleep it off.
As far as protein ice cream-----the most basic way to make it is to use soy milk and protein powder, blend it up, put in in the freezer until slushy, like soft-serve.
If you have an ice cream maker (I got mine at Salvation Army for $10) then you can make up the protein powder/soy milk mixure and whirl it in the ice cream maker.
I will post some Protein Ice Cream recipes in a different thread.
