Good Morning Illinois on this Labor Day Holiday!
I hope your holiday weekend has been a good one and that it continues to be good through the end.  Yesterday we had an old friend of Liz's over with her family for a BBQ along with my good friend Rob.  It was nice meeting new folks and hanging out with old ones as well.  I woke up around 4:15 and couldn't get back to sleep.  That happens a lot these days what with financial worries and future career moves to make my mind race.  For some reason, my incisions from surgery are hurting a little today.  Not terribly, but more like a bit of soreness.  I'll survive.  There is a lot of bruising below the port area which the doctor said was normal since there isn't much meat there to absorb all the internal bleeding from the operation.  Hopefully, that will all pass in the next week or so.  It seems like there has been a major positive response to our party offer for October 17th.  That's exciting in that we love to hang out with everybody.  Watch for more details as we get nearer the date.

Good Morning Paul and the rest of Illinois,
I hope everyone is having a great Labor Day Holiday.  I went to the Train concert last night and now trying to wake up and get the day going.  I have nothing but cleaning to do so deciding if I should just stay in my jammies all day or actually get dressed. 

Paul,
looking forward to your gettogether.  It will be nice to meet you and some of the other Illinois people.  We all need the support from others.

Good Morning Paul, and whole of Illinois,

We are waiting for our kids to come over to help get the pool the rest of the way down. It will be funny seeing the yard  without it, since it has been up for over 30 years. The kids were 7 or 8 when we put it in, and they are now on the upper side of 40.

Other then that, I just have to get stuff ready for work this week. No other plans, just a pcp appointment on Friday.

Hello everyone

I was incredibly bored yesterday.  I need to find more friends that don't have kids or grown kids.  Most of my friends have Little kids and they are always busy with their kids.  In fact I only have one friend without kids and we do go out a lot.  I think because she is in the same situation.  I went out and walked yesterday to try to make the boredom go away.  I guess the boredom is a good thing.  Before I started to lose weight I was too tired to feel bored.  Now I have some energy and want to go out and do things.  My daughter said I need to find a good hobby.  I think I'm going to follow her advice.  I want to learn to knit.  I always wanted to learn to knit but was told because I'm left handed I won't be able to learn???  I don't understand that.  So I will see if someone can teach me and I will hopefully learn enough to make some Christmas scarves.  

Paul-  it sounds like I will be missing another gathering.  I have plans that weekend.  I will be in Champaign celebrating my daughter's 22nd birthday.

I was born a leftie but my first grade teachers did not know how to teach one to write so I was switched to rightie.  My leftie son seems to have had no problem learning anything while my leftie daughter, afik, still has trouble cutting meat at 22.  She recently learned to schuck oysters though.  She had a leftie teacher.

Great idea for the new hobby. I have a suggestion for you to contact Connie or Kim M as they both knit and I am sure one of them will have ideas as to how a leftie can learn. I think it is a bunch of hooey that you cannot learn being a leftie because lefties learn how to crochet. Usually I think you need to learn from a leftie so you can get the technique down.

I noticed that you went to Dr. Lahmann any opinions, or good advice. I just started my journey and interested in what you have to say

I love Dr Lahmann.  The BMI clinic is very thorough in their surgeries and education.  There aren't many places that have their patients go to classes.  Not only do you go to a pre-opp class but there are three post opp classes.  They also provide exercise facilities if you need them.  They have a great program.  They don't just do the surgeries and forget abut you.  They teach you the tools you need to make your surgeries successful.  

I notice that you live in Oswego too.   

Good morning Paul and Illinois!

It has stopped raining here in WV. The skies are now clearing so I'm hoping we will be able to grill out later.

My husband and son will be working on moving the laundry room from the basement to the first floor today. It will be great if they can get it done so Michelle will be able to stop going to the laundromat.
With her mom at home with hospice and her wanting and needing  to spend time with her mom they are not getting things finished that were started months ago. I fully understand that right now being with mom is much more important for her as they do not know how much time she has left.
I went to see her mom when we first arrived here. It is so sad to see a once vibrant woman, who you could laugh and joke with lying in a hospital bed and not responding at all. I pray that God gives her children the strength they need to get thru this.

Ian starts his first day of pre-k tomorrow. He will go to school four days a week, for a full day. He his looking forward to going and to learn more.  I'm so glad to be here on his first day of school.

Hey everybody,

For some reason, I am getting inundated with PM's from madams, prostitutes and would be "women looking for a good time" coming through OH!  This just started today.  Obviously, I enjoy hearing from all of the legitimate friends here on the board, but I have no interest in this shady stuff.  Is this a new problem?  Or have I just been targeted?  Does anyone know how to make it stop?
