Saturday Roll Call

Good Morning Illinois Angels!

This is the real me!  My beautiful wife posted on my behalf yesterday as I was recovering, and I just read all the great replys.  Thanks everybody!  I am home and doing well.  The new port area is very sensative since they had to cut out the old port and put in a new one so there's lots of muscle tissue effected.  But I am very flexible and able to get up and move around much more than I was after the first time around.  I'm doing well as far as pain goes and only needed to take pain meds at bed time (10pm) and just took a little bit to help me now (2am).  There's a fair amount of swelling at the port site, but that could be that there is so little stomach there that it looks worse than last time.  My stomach is a little upset due to the drugs, but I expect that will clear up tomorrow.  Not nearly as many gas problems as last time!  They shaved my belly so I feel a little foolish!  I'm a very hairy guy and now I feel naked!  Dawn, I was only joking about the thong!  I'm more of a boxer brief kind of guy!  I never understood why anyone would want floss up their butt???  I stepped on the scale (wrong, I know) and was 2 pounds up from the surgery.  I'm still aiming for 160 some day, but I consider this "vanity" weight.  My doctor is very happy with where I am at.  I couldn't have gotten here without all of your great support and love!  My terrific health and great success in loosing all of the weight I needed to loose is living proof that WLS can work!  But it is not a one man/woman job.  I was successful mainly because I joined up with good doctors, nurses and most of all, great people who provide me understanding and support that goes beyond describing.  For those of you out there who are lurking and wondering if this is truely worth the effort, I say get involved and let us all be your family!  Even though my daily posts have spread out to weekly or sometimes monthly, not a day goes by when I don't feel the love and strength of all the folks on this board.  This is real!  Facebook is fun, and email is great, but they aren't there to support WLS as their purpose.  This is!  When I woke up yesterday from the surgery, my first thoughts were of my family, and then my second thoughts were of all of you and how much you mean to me.  Thank you for that love and power you've given to me!  The pain medicine is kicking in so it is getting hard to type.  I'll sign off for now, but I want to wish everyone a great day and weekend, and all my love and support in your trip down this road as well!

Well good morning Charlie...... I mean Paul.

You "sound" great.  I'm so glad the surgery went so well.  Even though you feel pretty good, please take it easy this weekend.  You still need to rest my friend.

I'm working a double and don't have much time before I should be heading out the door.  So I'll make this short.
I had a really hard time sleeping last night.  I was up until 2am.  Tossing and turning.  Lot of things on my mind and just could not relax.  So of course, now I'm tired.  Go figure.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good Morning Paul and Illinois!
Glad you're feeling better, surgery is just no daRN fun, but it seems as thought it was needed.  I'll be praying for a speedy recovery. It's a dreary day so far, but hopefully the sun will kick in.

Have a super terrific day in WLS land.
God Bless,

Trying to figure out how to reverse this weight gain.

Good Morning Paul and the whole state of Illinois.

Paul, the love we share for each other is priceless. We all want to be healthy and want to see each other be healthy too. I am so glad you were able to have your problem solved.

Christina, do be careful today. It is so easy to be careless ect, when you are tired.

Nothing exciting on my agenda today. I am going to do some small things around the house and get my mind back into work mode. Monday morning will be coming fast. I may run into Walmart. I need a few things. But if I don't get there today, there is always tomorrow.

Have a great weekend. Stay safe and stay healthy.

Hugs,

Lisa

Good Morning Illinois,

Hope everyone is doing well.  So glad to hear that Paul is recovering and already chatting on the boards.  I have a busy weekend planned today.  Shopping with my mom and daughters, and then out to dinner with some girlfriends.   That is always neat because I haven't seen them in awhile and they will be in awe when they see me.  I like the feeling but also kinda feel a little awkward when that happens, ya know what I mean?  Well everyone have a great day and Paul take it slow!         Lisa

Hello everyone

Happy Saturday...
I'm so glad that Paul is doing so great.

.Christine, you know I was having problem sleeping all this week too.  Earlier in the week I would just take Tylenol PM.  But by the end of the week I stopped, I have this fear of getting dependent on those kinds of meds.

Well yesterday I had fun a group of friends went bowling.  I'm also excited because next Tuesday one of my favorite authors is doing a book signing and my friend and I are going.  I never went to a book signing.

I have a couple of errands to run today but otherwise its a relaxing day for me.

Have a great Saturday

Hey Paul

Someone on the main Lapband board was asking about Band replacement surgery.  How ironic.  I replied to her and told her about you and where to find you on the Illinois board.  So you may get some questions from someone kind of scared about getting her band replaced.  I'm sure you will make her feel much better.

By the way I'm glad to see every thing went so well for you.  Get well soon.

Thanks!  I took off the dressing and saw the staples.  Kind of like Frankenstein's monster but clean.  I'm a little scared at the thought of when they remove them.  The first time was cemented so I didn't have any staples.  Other then that, and a little tummy ache, I'm doing pretty good!  I'll watch for that other person.

The sun has started to show through!  Enjoy the day.
