Thursday Roll Call

Good morning IL family.

Another rainy day. The drenching rains are hazardous this morning as there are a number of accidents on the highways. So, be careful out there. The roads are slick.

I took my pain med when I went to bed last night. It relaxed me a bit but I still woke up just about on the hour. Knowing something about pain management, taking one pill a day at night isn't going to give me relief. So today I am asking one of my doc friends if he could prescribe enough pills to get me through the week. I am not a drug addict - but in a lot of pain. I had pain pills left over from my plastic surgeries - so that should tell you that I don't take them just to take them to get high. I had to throw them out because they expired.

Not much on the horizon, just work and home. My mom is keeping busy with a lot of paperwork and other things to do. So that's a good thing.

Here's hoping that some of you will get your surgery approvals by the end of this week or the next. Hang in there and call the insurance company frequently or if need be, call your doc's office to make sure that they have everything they need to submit the documentation for your surgery approval.

Lisa, I hope your LGI testing today goes well and the results of your holter monitor are good.

Dawn, hang in there. Soon you'll have the additional tests and get some answers.

Everyone else, take care, stay dry and safe. Have a good day!

Hugs and Love,
Lucy

Good Morning Lucy and Illinois in General.

Thank you Lucy for your kind thoughts. You do know I wish for  you the same with your knee pains.

I will be off to the hospital in a couple of min, to have the moniter removed and get some more test done. I was on a 24 hr clear liquid  diet until now, and can't have coffee until the test are over. I will die from withdrawal by then.

Have a great rainy day, drive safe and stay safe.

Hugs, LISA

I'm just a day away from my re-banding operation!  Unfortunately, on my way home from class last night, I was stopped for speeding and given a ticket.  Not the way I wanted to head into my recovery, but such is life.  I have a corporate massage event today, then a pathology class, then home to bed in order to get up at 5am and go to surgery.  If all goes well, I will be eating food without throwing up in a week!

Have a good one and try to stay dry!

Good luck tomorrow.  I am thinking about you.

I hate to admit it but I have gotten two speeding tickets this past year.  The only ones I have ever received.  I must be getting lead footed as I get older!  Go for court supervision to get it off your record.  It still hurts in the wallet and the dignity but it eases the pain a little.

Good Morning Lucy and Illinois friends

Lucy, I sure hope your friend will give you some medicine.  You are right, you need to have medicine around the clock to control the pain.  Once the pain is there, it is hard to get rid or it or get it under control.  They always cautioned me about that when I was in for my knee replacement.   And I know if my left knee starts really hurting it is harder to get it back under control.

Lisa, good luck today.  I am sure you are anxiously awaiting that coffee!

I ended staying home yesterday.  I dont know what is wrong with me but I am exhausted.  I kept falling asleep yesterday morning and finally went back to bed at 11am and slept until 3 pm and went to bed at my regular time and still woke up exhausted again today.  I have a cold but I shouldn't be that tired with it.  I am going to call my doctor today and see if he wants to run a CBC on me.  I have become low in blood several times in the past two years and I am wondering if I am there again.  I was low when I had my knee replacement and barely came back to acceptable levels.  So it may have gone down again.

I will go to work today.  I have no sick leave left so I just cant stay home.  Hopefully there is a simple solution to this.  Maybe it is just the rainy weather.  It always is harder to get moving on days like this.

Hope everyone has a good day.  Stay dry and safe!

Chicago Candy  Congratulations on reaching the century mark!  Whoo Hoo!!!

Hi Nancy. I did get a prescription from my doc friend. It was strange though, when I took it to my hospital outpatient pharmacy, they knew that I had a prescription filled for the same drug. It's something new across the nation. The government is cracking down on the narcotic abuse.

I told her that I did have a script filled yesterday for 10 pills. She said I have to wait until tomorrow to get it filled. I said that was fine.

I have enough pain meds to get me through today and tomorrow.

I'm using my cane now. Someone within our department is a physical therapist, so she showed me how to use it.

Nancy, sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Maybe your iron stores are down or depleted. I know that I had the constant feeling of being tired, and then found out that my iron levels were way down. It sucks that you can't stay home.

Hope you feel better soon! Thanks for the message.

Hugs,
Lucy
