Curious about your experiences with Dr. Nagle or Dr. Rosen

I may have a band slip or at the very least a dialated pouch. I have been incredibly dissatisfied with my doctor, Sharfi Sarker, at Loyola. I am considering switching doctors, regardless of whether or not a revision is in my future. I'd love to hear your experiences with these physicians, their offices, after care and support. Thanks in advance for your help!

I am a long time patient of Dr Rosen's going back to January 2003 when I was pre op and he was with the WISH Center. Dr Rosen now heads up Life Weigh Bariatrics (LWB) and is in the same offices as when the WISH Center was still in practice and he has all of the patient files etc from then. You will not find a better well rounded program as LWB because they believe in team work and the patient is at the top of the team and the rest of the staff is there to serve s/he. Dr Rosen does take on patients from other practices for follow up and/or revisions. Please check out their web site which has a link in the lower right corner of this page or click here. http://www.lifeweighbariatrics.com/index.html

You are not forgotten once you have surgery as their program incorporates pre op care and life time after care. You are not dropped like a hot potato after wards and they go onto other patients. You are important to them. (My husband had his RNY with another well known bariatric center here in the NW suburbs and he wishes he had his surgery with Dr Rosen to begin with because of LWB's well rounded program. Patients at Dave's doctor are more or less treated like a number and they have lost their personalness. I am also a long time patient of one of the doctors there for a prior major illness and I will not go back to him because of what I just mentioned) The staff at LWB is great in that they are there to help you be successful in achieving your goal of weight loss whether it is non surgical or surgical - they have both programs that are doctor supervised. The monthly support groups are relevant and the staff attends almost each and everyone of them as is one of the doctors in attendance if they are not on a call.

They are there to assist you with insurance coverage (Barbie), medically with the nurses and doctors, nutrition and exercise. These staff people are on premise and you do not have to go elsewhere except for physiological as this doctor is not employed there but has offices affiliated with Good Sam in Downers Grove. Good Sam was just a few short steps away from receiving accreditation to be a center of excellence. By now they might have it. You can ask when you call for an appointment.

Hopefully this has helped you with answering your questions. Sorry I do not know anything about Dr Nagle. There are other ladies on the board that are also Dr Rosen patients and when they have time hopefully they can stop in and add to this.

Hi there -

I'm sorry you had a bad experience.  I have to back up everything that Christine has said about LWB.  Dr. Rosen and his Team of experts are top notch.  They really do care about their patients and want you to be successful.  The before and after care that they provide is excellent.  I would highly recommend Dr. Rosen, LWB.
Feel free to ask me any questions openly or by pm.

RNY on 10/08/07 with
I had my RNY surgery by Dr. Nagle almost 2 years ago.  I was extremely pleased with him and his staff.  There's a monthly support group meeting at Northwestern Hospital the third Thursday of the month.  Good luck.

Thank you, everyone, for your feedback! Are there any lapbanders out there that have been to these Drs?

My husband had lapband w/ Dr. Rosen in Jan of 08.  Dr. Rosen is highly skilled in both lapband and gastric bypass.  Can't say enough good things.  You need to make that call.
