Wednesday Roll Call

Good morning IL family.

I hope that Paul is doing well after his procedure yesterday.

I am up early because I couldn't sleep due to my pain. Today I'll be at a conference all day at the Marriott downtown. Actually, I'll be there tomorrow and Friday too.

I got another appointment to see my ortho doc. I didn't get any relief from my cortisone shot. I can't take the pain anymore. It's really bad at nightime, waking me up on the hour. So my sleep is interrupted all night long.

I had to change my appointment with Dr. Guske too - as I didn't have the heart to go see him as I am struggling with my weight. I made another appointment for late September.

I've had a lot of stressors this past month, combining that with this pain - I've been miserable. I'm trying to be there for my Mom and that too is draining. Now my aunt from Austria has been diagnosed with lung cancer and is going through more testing. She may be coming here and then to Mayo clinic for treatment. Then there is my sister who is suffering with chronic arthritis and mainly stays in the house. My brother in law has been unemployed for 6 weeks now.

Ugh!

At least today I'll be with friends and my ex-employees at the conference. It will be the first time that we are together at a work function. Then, one of my best friends will come over and depending on the weather, we may take a dip in the pool or watch a movie.

WIshing everyone a good day.

Hugs and Love,
Lucy

Thank you for your concern Lucy.  The proceedure went well and very little corosian was found.  However, we are still going forward with the band replacement since its not going to loosen on its own.  I'm sorry to hear that you are in pain.  If there is anything I can do to help, just pm me and let me know.  As to your weight, the time to see the doctor is NOW!  Even though you feel like he will be judgmental, his job is to support your weightloss process.  If he isn't doing that effectively, then you should find a doctor who does.  I think we become friends with our doctors and then we start to worry about their judgement and that defeats their roll in our treatment.  You are a beautiful and wonderful woman and you've had a difficult year.  But I believe you will be very successful in your journey.  My prayers are with you.

Hi Paul. I just was able to check my messages and this site.

It was a very long day - traffic wise and then the ride home with the heavy rains.

I'm glad to hear that you will be able to resolve your problems with your band. Having both procedures, I think the band is so much more work to maintain and manage.

Thank you so much for your comforting words. I just need to get my head in gear and not use anything as an excuse. My doc has always been there for me. I just feel bad and a failure. There is nothing he can do - it's really left with me.

Good Morning Lucy and the rest of my IL friends

Lucy you are in my prayers that things calm down for you soon and that you can get control of your pain too!  hugs my friends

Today is the first day of school...thank goodness!!  LOL   Tyler is a sophmore this year and will be getting his permit in late Oct.  I am NOT ready for that, but oh well.  He's in all honors classes and football again.  He's gonna be one busy boy again...or still rather!
Jacob is in honors classes also and being in 8th grade this year, he will get high school credit for them!  He just got contacts last week and is having a hard time with them, but is determined to get used to them.
Austyn is starting middle school this year, 6th grade!  He's a little nervous, but I think he'll do fine.  He's also in honors Math.
I am just finishing my semester and will be taking my finals in the next few weeks.  lol

Other than that, tonight is a football scrimmage game for Tyler and then a parents meeting.  That's it for me.

I am going to enjoy my quiet day with the boys gone and Mike out of the house working today! yay

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Monica

Hi Monica. I can't believe how fast your boys are growing up! School already? Where did the summer go?

Hope you had some quiet time "me" time today.

Thanks for the prayers. I sure need them.

Good morning Lucy and the rest of Illinois!

Lucy, I am feeling for you and sending good mojo your way.  You HAVE had a very hard year.  I am hoping things look up for you soon.  Paul is RIGHT!!!!  The time to see the doc is now!  He can help you.......if he is judgmental, time for a new doc!  Enjoy your conference and time with friends, that is always good.

Glad to hear that Paul's procedure went well and there is minimal corrosion.  It DOES sound like a looser band is in order.  I have you in my thoughts and prayers also for a quick resolution.

Monica, enjoy your quiet time and get ready for those finals.

Today, Liv is here at work with me as she is going to work at the museum's outreach tent at the fair today.  David may work tonight, then they both will work tomorrow.  They start school on Friday with half a day.  Our school has both volleyball and football scrimmages on Friday night.  I think that is the ONLY reason that school is starting.....so the sports can begin.

I am getting ready to put the final touches on this year's Tie Dye Party.  It will be on August 29th.  Let me know if anyone is interested.  I will probably make an event on Facebook----that is SO easy!

I am pretty happy that my testing is done and I can get back to "normal".  Looking forward to next week when I can hopefully get some answers.

Everyone have a fabulous day!

Tell someone that you love them!

Hi Dawn. My doc is not judgemental at all. He's been very supportive. I'm the one who needs to get her act together. If I had one of my doc's partners - then I would agree with you and Paul.

I will keep you in my prayers as well - for some definite news on your tests - to give you some peace of mind. Hope things are going better with DH.

Thanks for this message and sending me some good mojo!

Hugs,
Lucy

good morning Lucy and the state of Illinois.

Lucy, your cup runneth over with grief. Please don't cancell your appointments with our dear Dr. Guske. He is there for you. Maybe a talk with Dr. Crane would be good for you. Please don't let yourself go into a depression again. You have so much going for you. And you have loads of people who are concerned about you, me included.

Monica, I remember those first days after the kids went back to school. Cherish them, the years go by so fast.

Paul, I am glad you are getting your band problem taken care of.

My Dr. appointment yesterday went good. He decided to try me on Nextium for a month and see if that will relieve the vomiting. He seems to think that the gall bradder for now is ok, and my problem is acid  more then the gall stones. We will wait and see.

Today I am just going to power clean our bedroom and go walking. Maybe dead head some plants and i know we need to pick tomatoes.

stay safe, stay dry,

Hugs LISA

Hi Lisa.  I think I said it all with Paul and Dawn. You know that I just adore Dr. Guske. It's not him; it's me. I have to do my part and for some reason, I haven't been able to get there. I'm not ready to see Dr. Crane either.

Interesting that it's acid and not your gallbladder. Hopefully the medication will help you. Sure better than having to have a surgical procedure.

I sure got wet tonight with the heavy rains. I got caught in it on my way home tonight.

Thanks for your concern and message.

Hugs,
Lucy

Good Morning everyone.
I'll be working on resume and getting things ready for my daughter Gloria 8th birthday party this weekend. Open house for school tonight , then school starts tomorrow !
I had a heck of a day with my pouch yesterday. Tried eating scrambled eggs and it was uncomfortable going down. I then got on boards and someone else was having the same issue. IT continued all day with anything solid. So poached an egg to day and much better. I'm just starting soft and apparently my pouch is going to lean toward really mushing foods! Cool with me.

Starting to try different protein shakes. Not going well so far. Might just buy from Doctor office for a few more months, even though they are expensive.

Have a great day,

Same days it doesn't pay to chew the restraints off...
