IPA nurse wants:

New Pumanoligist testing.  May 08 was not good enough even though no pulmanology test were required by surgeon.

Echo Doppler -  not required in cardiac eval and will read inconclusive due to obesity.

Then who knows what else.  I have cried and wailed and flailed around.  Who knows when or if I might have surgery now.

Randy, so sorry that you received this bad news but most docs will not let a whole year lapse without having an up to date test for what you are writing about. So much can happen with a patient in that time span.

It will happen for you - just read what is at the bottom of your signature - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Just lean on Him and you will get through this.

I am sorry to hear about all the issues you are running into Randy. It sounds like you need one of those moments were you step back and try (hardest thing to do) to put it all back into prospective. Of course that is easy for me to say since I am on the outside looking in. I know that may not be what you want to hear.

Not so much perspective as just having to stuff the emotions and get the job done.

Cardiac orders instead of cardiac clearance was sent to insurance company.  My lack of acceptance of such things is why I love computers.  Once you get the program right you just let it run.  Having the PCP/HMO lady do this stuff instead of the surgeons office means I have to cut her some slack but I am the one that ends up paying for that.

Thanks to you both for the encouragement.

Well I must say, this process can be an emotional roller coaster before and after.  I was approved for surgery, had a surgery date, flew my mother in to help me after surgery and when I went to my last pre-op appointment with my surgeons office, they had changed staff and the fitness guru decided he wanted me to exercise more and postponed my surgery for two months.  Talk about full of emotions.  I was soooo upset.  I already had everything in place, scheduled time off work, flew mom in from Fl only to hear we are postponing.  So things do happen.  My surgery did eventually get approved by the fitness guru but just wanted to share my experience to let you know that you are not alone.  This kind of stuff does happen.

Be strong.

Hang in there!  Your surgery will happen when it is supposed to happen.  I remember all the anticipation and disappointments preop.  I got my 6 month diet finished only to discover that my doctor had not documented enough info so I got to do it all over again!   So I also had to repeat some of my other tests as well.  I got down three days before surgery and I was down 4 pints of blood.  They almost delayed it to figure out why I was losing blood.

So the ups and downs are extremely frustrating!  We want it to happen and NOW!  I think part of that is after finally getting the courage to have the surgery, we just want to get on with our new life!

I will say this, my delay caused me to be super excited for my surgery and I was not nervous at all.  I was like a kid at Christmas and felt that the time was absolutely right.  Remember that all things happen for a reason and this was not your time to have surgery.
