Monday Roll Call
Dear Randy, Lisa, Christine, Lucy and Dawn,
Congratulations on your 30th anniversary Randy. It's so wonderful to hear about a long-lasting relationship in this day and age. It's certainly not an easy thing to achieve!
Good luck with your orientation, Christine. Lisa and Lucy, I hope you feel better soon. Dawn, I'm glad things seem a little better with your husband. Maybe your idea of giving him some time will let him come to terms with what's bothering him? I swear, men need to retreat to their "caves" some times. I wish we could send them all on a mammoth hunt together to get out all that excess testosterone! Whataya say, Randy? Sound good? I'll certainly send mine (Steve) along. He was moody and sarcastic most of the weekend.
His work is sooo stressful right now.
On the surgery front, I talked with my surgeon's insurance expert. AETNA just needed one more thing, documentation of my weight in 2007 and 2008. I called my PCP, I'm PRETTY sure she should have progress notes with that info. Now I just have to bug her assistant to get the info faxed. The assistant is not the most competent person, I see several phone calls in my future!
My supervisor is having WLS also. She and I are pretty much on the same timeline. She just got her approval letter last week, so she'll be scheduled before me. It's kind of nice to have a buddy through this process. She's not as excited as I am, this is kind of her last resort as her health is really compromised by her weight right now. I've told her about this site and how much I've learned, but she hasn't tried it out yet.
Well, I'm home with my sick DD today. She's just got a bad cold, I'm hoping she gets well soon as 1st grade starts next week!

Good Morning Randy and the rest of IL
Today I have to run to Sam's Club to buy some dog food and a few other things, then to Target for some last minute school supplies and the home to do homework. Tomorrow Tyler has a football meeting and then two a day practices start on Wednesday.
Mike and Austyn are leaving on Thursday until Monday for MN to attend a cousin's wedding. I volunteered to stay home to take care of the dogs and Tyler and Jacob. It will be nice to actually spend some quality time with my boys.
Okay I have a question for you all...I have been noticing a lot of bruises on me lately. I went to the Dr and they ran a bunch of bloodwork and everything came back normal. (I am waiting to get a copy of the results to see what they consider normal). Any idea what else I should have them check maybe? I know they did a CBC and some other tests that show clotting

Nancy, be careful with those pain meds! Oh my, I sure hope you are ok. You are probably feeling no pain at all now. LOL!
Dawn, Im glad your boys are home and that they had a great trip. I hope your husband lets you in on what he is feeling. I agree that men don't let us in like we would like them to. I have one of those myselves. He asks me all the time, "WHat do you want me to do then?" I say it is easy.."Talk to me!" Very frustrating!
Your beer can chicken sounds awesome. I have used the beer can part before, but not the Brine part, it sounds awesome!
Today I am sitting at the car dealer ( which I hate) waiting for them to look at the CD/DVD player in the van. It wont let any of the cd's or dvd's eject and wont play any of them except for one movie, Little Mermaid. Ugh! We are going to Springfield next week for 3 days and really could use the cd player and for sure the DVD player for the trip. I called ahead and they said it would take an hour to diagnose and then 2 days to get a new radio. When I got here, they said minimum of 2 hours just to look at the van and it could take up to 2 weeks to get the radio! I hate car dealers! I pitched a fit about the miscommunication and they are trying to look at it now and then and only then can they tell me how long it will take to get the replacement! It is a waste to sit her today if it is going to take two weeks. We need it for next week. Oh well, what can you do?
I am having old friends for dinner tonite. Girls I used to sail with in my teens and twenties! It will be a great reunion and it is all thanks to facebook! That is another reason I dont want to sit here all day, I have things to do to get ready. Thank God I sent the kids to the sitter! If they were here now, I would be pulling my hair out.
My dad has his first chemo on Friday and so far all is well. No huge side effects just tired. His blood levels are dramatically increasing so I hope this chemo controls or makes them subside. He as two more weeks of just chemo and then starts chemo/radiation combo. Please keep him in your prayers.

It is fun to get together with old friends whom you havent seen in years.
On Wednesday is our 30th anniversary and I am in a funk with a migraine and I dont even want to do anything!!!!!!!
I leave for Denver on Saturday. dont worry Im not driving this time. I am flying.....Ill be there for 9 days. Visiting friends and a friend who has bone cancer and isnt doing to well.
I got addicted to Ebay!!!!! not I have to stop doing the bidding!!!!!! cause I wont have any money left......
