Consultation in 2 Days!

Hey Everyone,

I am a bit nervous about this consultation with the Dr, Nut., Psy. on Wednesday.

I am praying they will approve me to be appart of their program @ University of Chicago Medical Center.

I am not sure why they wont except me...The only co-morbid i have is Sleep Apnea...which I was just diagnosed.

Then after that I will have to fight with my insurance....I am trying to get prepared for that.

Good luck on Wednesday.  It can be a long process, as I'm finding out.  Just keep going, do everything they ask and always bug them about what the next step is.  I've had to push people to tell me what I need to do next so I can move the process along as quickly as possible.

Yeah..I have been bugging them.

I have all my medical records..(which they didnt ask for), all weight loss attempts.

I am just hoping I dont have to fight BCBS too much on there experimental for DS.

I need all the prayer I can get!

Were you at Dr. Alverdy's office yesterday?  I think we may have been there at the same time!  I finally got my insurance approval and am having Dr. Prachand next Friday  Dr. Alverdy is going to be out of town so he gave my case to Dr. Prachand.

I am scheduled on Monday for the preop testing and the consent and nutrional education.

I am so excited to have my GERD issues resolved.

Yes! I was there yesterday.

Dr. Alverdy states that he "Strongly Recommends, DS"

My insurance policy states that its experimental.

I am praying that I get approved.

How has your process been?

My insurance process was miserable but it is all behind me now.   My insurance had an exclusion for WLS and my argument was that I wasnt pursuing RnY for weight reasons, rather to cure my SEVERE GERD.

I had lapband back in 2006 and it greatly increased my GERD to the point that I had aspiration pneumonia several times.
