Friday Roll Call

Good morning IL friends.

Well, can you say weekend? I'm so glad it's here - hopefully some time for R&R. It's definitely going to be pool weather for the next 3 days.

My knee is really bad at night. Last night, I got up at 2 and slept the rest of the night in the recliner. The pain wakes me up every  hour even with different positions.

My aunt is going back to Austria on Monday  - so we'll see how my Mom does alone in the house. I'm somewhat concerned about this.

I'm hoping to get my new elliptical put together - at least partially this weekend.

Miss a lot of friends who don't come on the board anymore, like Pam and Ronna. It just isn't the same anymore.

So, what is happening with you today and this weekend???

Have a great day.

Hugs,
Lucy

Good morning,

Just got to work and knocked my morning task. Not much going on today but we do have a Birthday party going saturday for my Father-in-law at the house.  I am not looking forward to the heat wave but at least my son will enjoy getting wet out in the yard. I hope everyone has a good weekend and enjoys the weather. On a side note, the paperwork for our insurance approval was sent out today. I am crossing my fingers for a fast response.

Have a good one,

Omar & Jannette

Hi Omar. I'll keep my fingers crossed that your insurance paperwork gets processed and you get approved.

Kids love being outside and having fun - no matter what the weather is like!

Have fun at your Father-in-law's Birthday party.

Good morning Lucy and the rest of Illinois!

Enjoy your pool over the weekend Lucy, maybe the soaking will help the knee.  I remember Nancy saying that it sometimes takes a few days for the shot to kick in.  Please hang in there.  My thoughts are with your Mom as she makes this life adjustment.

Omar & Jannette:  My fingers are crossed for a quick approval.  The waiting is definately the hardest part of this journey.

After work today I need to pick up my cowgirl, Liv, from her last day at theater camp.  We will then meet Amber and Devon for dinner before the play.  I went to a resale shop yesterday and got the boots and shirt for her costume.  This will be her first leading role!  She is very excited even though the play is only about a half an hour long.

I have a lots to do before the boys get home tomorrow evening.  I need to shop for groceries and get some chores done.  Liv and I have been slacking a tiny bit and I want everything to be ship-shape so we can be lazy on Sunday as a family.  I am nervous to see what my husband's attitude will be.  Please send lots of prayers/good thoughts/karma for us that he will be back to his old personality and that he missed me.

It is going to rain here, which means the roofers will most likely not show up and their mess will be in my yard all weekend.  I will be very happy when they are done.

Everyone have a lovely day!

Hi Dawn. The pool would be great, it's just going up and down the pool stairs - as well as sitting down and getting up from the lounge chairs - as they are low and tough on the knees.

Liv is a very active young lady. Sounds like she is having a fun summer. Good luck to her with her first leading role.

Of course, lots of prayers and good thoughts coming your way for you and DH to make strides toward togetherness and your relationship.

Sorry to hear that your roofers are still abound. It is a messy situation but you will be happy once it's done and the mess is cleared.

Take care my dear friend!

Hugs,
Lucy

Good Morning Lucy.

I can agree with you. I was thinking of Ronna yesterday, wondering where she is and how she is doing.

Omar, your wait won't be long.

Dawn, I am hoping you get that quiet day at home on Sunday.

I had to call the Dr this morning. I am totally broke out on my face and neck. Plus a bit on my arms and legs. I think it is from working on the bushes  on the east side of the house. We shall see.

Nothing else happening today. We are meeting our DD and her family for a cookout tomorrow evening. They are camping a few miles away from us.

Have a great weekend, stay dry.

Hugs, LISA

Good morning Lisa. Did I tell you that I love your new picture?

I can't help missing our dear friends from a few years ago. I miss everyone! My dear Pam S., who I used to have a lot of fun with here on the website and Ronna - who got together with me at Christmas time 2007 - we went caroling in Arlington Heights.

It sounds like a localized skin thing - probably from the insect bites and gardening. I hope you get some answers and maybe some over the counter medication that helps you feel better.

Have fun at the cookout tomorrow evening. It's going to be a hot day.

Take care sweetie!

Waiting, waiting, waiting

with Omar too.

Cheryl is at Willow today helping serve in Willow for the Leadership Summit.  She gets an extra holiday to volunteer.  Everyone at her company gets the day but she actually volunteers on the day she takes.  She took one of her vacation days so she could volunteer yesterday.

I have a meeting with my DRS counselor today and am supposed to be assigned a job search coach of some kind,  Great timing, eh.  Could be if I get my surgery and can job search and go to a regular job as I begin to lose more quickly.

Sure would be nice to have two full time incomes again.  Cheryl will start in the Loop next month.  We would have liked to move closer to a Metra station for that but it is just not in the cards or the pocketbook right now.  Sure would be nice to have two full time incomes again.  Did I already say that?

Randy

Hi Lucy, Dawn, and the rest of our Illinois members!

Lucy, I'm practically your neighbor, I live in Buffalo Grove!  Hope your knee feels better.  I don't know what's wrong with it, but have you tried physical therapy?

Dawn, I'll be thinking about you this weekend and hoping your husband comes back in a better frame of mind.  I can't imagine what this must be like for you.  I'd be devastated if anything happened to my marriage. Our 15th anniversary is in September, but we've been together for 22 years.  At one point, early in our marriage, I begged him to go to therapy, and he refused.  I went anyway, and the therapist gave me some ideas on how to get Steve to join us.  It worked and after 3 months of therapy, our relationship improved dramatically.  That was 10 years ago, and when things get rough with me yelling or him shutting down, we still remind each other of the tools we learned and get back on track.

Randy and Omar, I have my fingers crossed that your wait is short and you get the answers you are hoping for.

My paperwork is currently in the hands of my Dr.'s insurance specialist.  She called me yesterday with some questions, but I missed the call, darn it!  I've called back today, but all I get is a voicemail.  It is driving me crazy, because I keep thinking up all these horrible scenarios where I can't get my surgery.  My boss is going through this at the same time, and she just got her approval letter a few days ago.  I WANT MINE!!!!!!!!!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone and stay cool and hydrated!

Thanks Stephanie for the good thoughts and advice.

I REALLY have my fingers crossed that things will be OK.  You are right, I AM devastated---we have been together for 23 years and will have our 17th anniversary in October, so you and I are pretty much on the same page that way.
I plan on going to counseling on my own to help me handle this........his behavior is totally opposite of the man he has always been.
I am hoping that his trip has given him time to miss me. and turn back into himself.

Thanks again and keep that good karma coming.........

Tell someone that you love them!
