After care at University of Chicago

Can anyone tell me about their experience with the aftercare provided at the University of Chicago?  How often are the support group meetings?

I also want to say thanks to everyone on OH.  I just discovered this website, but I wish I knew about this back in 2006 when I first started thinking about WLS.

I know nothing about the aftercare. I too am looking at UOC. If you do get an appointment
let me know. They told me after the first of the year.

Hi Pam,

I heard that the appointments were out until next year, but I hoped that was not true.  I just contacted them yesterday.  I'm not interested in getting surgery until December or January, but I had hoped to at least see the doctor before 2010!  I wonder if that means their program is really that good??

From what I  have reasearched I would say Dr. Prachand at UOC or Dr. Husted in Kentucky'.
I want a revision from open RNY to a DS. They are both very experienced in Laproscopic and Open techniques.
All the patients reviews are positive for both.

Called COA. the reason I did not  get an appointment was because I have Medicare. Said
no appointments until the first of the year for people with Medicare. Sucks bigtime

I was just lucky to get a appointment, as I told Pam.

I called 2 weeks ago, and sent the e-mail, later that day I got an appointment for this coming  Wednesday.

I have BCBSIL, and I am looking to have the DS, but they consider is experimental. I hear that they both are great Drs. So I am praying that will there help, I will get approved the first time around.

I got my info session on 8/25 and the evaluation on 9/2!!! I hope your appointment went well.

My appointment went GREAT....Dr. A stated he would strongly recommend DS, for me.

I was very busy there . I was getting a bit irritated, but after I got called back I was okay.

The medical staff was very nice....
