Can someone please honestly give me some negative of DS?

I am not trying to be negative in seeking this particular WLS, but I have read all the great things of DS....I have yet to hear any negative things about DS.

I surely have heard things about RNY.

So please let me know if any negatives, that you would like to share with a possible DSer.

Please and Thank you

I replied to your same post on this on the DS Forum.

As far as I know, I am the ONLY active Illinois forum poster who has the DS. (Yes, it's awkward, but I handle it somehow, LOL!)

Seriously, if you'd like to meet up, let me know. I love telling people about the amazing, life-saving delicious duodenal switch!

Nicolle

I had the kick-butt duodenal switch (DS)!

Please, take Nicolle up on the invite to meet.  It really makes a big difference when you actually know someone who has gone through what you will be going through.  She is a wealth of information, and just an amazing person.

I spend a lot of time in Chicago, and a couple weeks ago Nicolle & I had dinner with a pre-op DSer  (her date is coming up soon!), her cousin  (who is going to be a great support person for her), and another woman who's PCP recommended the DS --- if the woman wanted to save her eyesight.  Lots of good questions and exchange of information in that informal setting.  And, sitting there for a couple hours, you can be assured that any normal DSer doesn't stink, and you can watch what we eat.

Cool!

I am looking forward to meeting some Dser's! Maybe Nicolle can make it happen.

I thought you were having the RNY in a couple of weeks?

If you have any questions about the DS, please post them on the DS forum, I'm sure those folks would love to help you out. Also, check out www.dsfacts.com.

Come over to the DS board & fire away any "?"s you may have!

Every opinion we share, every favor we perform, every moment we intently listen to someone talk about themselves is our opportunity to pass along something positive to a person who needs us.
