Calling all other HYPOCHONDRIACS
Ok heres the deal. I have never been diagnosed, but I wonder if I am a hypochondriac? I worry about every little ache and pain I get! I mean not to the point that I cant function in life but I do worry. Not just about surgery either, every little pain. And for get it if I read something on the Internet! LOL I have had every disease known to man. Anyone else do this? And yes I have talked to my doctor :)
I find that I can let myself do this if I am not careful. Fortunately, I am not the type to run to the doctor until I am almost dying. In fact if I go in for something, my doctor realizes it is serious. But I read all the medical sites, look at the medical books, do self diagnosis and determine whether I will live or not.
I usually flunk the course.
I tend to get this way because I don't follow the classic examples of any diseases so it always is a hmmm for the doctors as well.
I think it is normal to be concerned about the aches and pains. It would be problematic if you ran to the doctor about each one.
Think positive on your surgery. I did and firmly believe that attitude has a lot to do with it. I was as excited as a kid at Christmas when I had my RNY! That excitement carried me through surgery and recovery and made it easier to stick to my pre and post op diet.
