Question on an Insurance change...Humana?

Hey Guys,

I currently have BC/BS of IL...it requires a 3 month supervised diet which I have already begun.

It is a possibility that my employer may change our insurance over to Humana due to premiums. Any idea if they cover the RNY? Would I still be able to use Dr Guske from the Kane Center?

I have BCBSIL PPO...I will begin my 3 months on tomorrrow.

I have already completed 4 months of a medically supervised diet, but not sure if insurance would approve of it.

I was covered by Humana when I had my surgery last November. For me, there was no requirement to have a supervised diet but I think those parameters are set my the employer not Humana. Approval came quickly once it was submitted. I had reached my out-of-pocket for the year so the surgery didn't cost me anything. Dr. Wallace of the Kane Center was my surgeon so I would assume Dr Guske is in Humana's network.
