It's been a long time!!!!!
Hi Everyone,
I haven't been on for a long time. In February I had my Band removed because of some major problems. I just came from Dr. office and they are planning a revision. A gastric sleeve. Has anyone ever heard of it or had it. I gained back about 40 pounds. Just horrible....but now I am waiting for insuranse approval. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers..I have been through so much and felt ashamed to come back
. I know I can't do this without all of you. So please I need All the positive feedback I could get..
Love Marilyn

Marilyn, What were you ashamed of? you didn't do anything. For you, the band was the problem, not the cure. You will come out ahead in the end.
I am so glad that you came on the forum. So many of the "oldsters" don't come on anymore. Fill us in on what has been happening in your world for the last few months. How is everyone?
Hugs,
LISA

I was not familiar with the gastric sleeve until my niece started considering it for her weight loss surgery. From the research I have done it is the first step of a DS surgery. If you decide to have a DS surgery, it is halfway done. The sleeve seems to be very successful. There is some excellent information on this site under surgery types. That is where I got some of my information.
Don't be ashamed of your regain. It was the band that caused you problems. One of the reasons we all have had surgery is that we need the help. You had the band removed. Your help was gone, You are back on track to get that help again, so thing positive!
Hang around here and chime in on the daily roll calls. Welcome back!

Hi Marilyn. Welcome back.
Don't feel ashamed. I gained just over 100 pounds and feel so terrible.
I've heard of the gastric sleeve but am surprised that the Kane group is going them. I know that they don't do DS as the second step - or just the DS.
If they did, that is something I would have wanted.
Take care and know that you are not alone. I'm in the same or I should say worse spot than you are. I came back last week and felt so ashamed and a failure.
Good luck with the insurance approval! Keep us posted.
Hugs and Love,
Lucy
