Has anyone had their surgery here? What was your experience like? I will be having my surgery here and would like to know if the staff is nice or should I be looking for a new hospital. I had my twins at this hospital 11 years ago and had a pleasant experience. I just want to make sure I will nothing has changed.

I did not have my surgery here mine was a St Alexius in Hoffman Estates so as far as I'm concerned they're the best but,,, I have talked to several people who have had their surgeries there and my dietitian that helped me through the 6 mo diet transferred to their program.. EVERYONE I have talked to that did it there has had NOTHING BUT NICE things to say. So,, I think you'll be in good hands. Its the top hospital in the State or one of them isnt it and I hear their WLS program is REALLY good.

I am in the process myself. I just attended the session on this week.

I have my consultation in 2 weeks.

I was told it was a great program as well...What insurance do you have?

You may want to search this site for your surgeon to get a better idea.  My probable surgeon is Vitello who is with UIC.  Two members here have had surgery by him in the last few weeks and one last year that I know of.
