Monday Roll Call
Good morning IL friends.
I'm starting the day since I will be out shortly to go to my Mom's and then to the funeral home.
I got home last night around 10:30 and hardly slept.
Today's the funeral mass and burial and then a luncheon. The finality of this will really hit my mom today. I just am so worried about her. We will be with her but today will be the last day she will see her husband as he was. It's going to be so heartbreaking.
I was so happy and thankful to see Willow (aka Val) at the wake yesterday. She is my best friend and it was so comforting to have her with me, even though there was a room full of people.
Tomorrow I'll be back at work....
The sun is shining and my stepdad loved the warm sun. It's been sunny since he passed away last Wednesday.

Lucy, my thoughts are with you on this difficult day.
"A Day in Rock City" was a great success! The weather was PERFECT, Eileen's creations were awesome ( i hope you got some rest......), my brother and a friend came, another friend that I haven't seen for years came, the fireworks were spectacular.........etc, etc, etc........ Just a great day and evening all around.
Things are a bit better on the home front, just not back to "normal". My greatest hope is that things WILL return to "normal" but in the mean time, I can just do what I can do.
Liv's team won first place in their conference and also took first place in the tournament. She was very proud wearing her two gold medals last evening.
My boys are getting ready to go on their "High Adventure" trip with the Scouts. This year, they will be whitewater rafting and stuff in Colorado. They are leaving Thursday and will be gone for 10 days. I think I will really miss them this time.
That's about it for me today.

Hi Dawn,
I was just too tired yesterday after I got home from the funeral day. It was one of my most difficult days in my life. I got home after 9 p.m. Of course, during this whole time (6 days) my eating has been not the best.
Glad to hear that your Rock City Day was a great success. You have a wonderful family and I am happy to see that you do a lot together. Congrats to Liv on winning first place.

Lucy, I am so sorry for your loss. Please take care of yourself during this difficult time.
Dawn, I came late to the party on your homefront issue, so I just didn't want to jump in, midstream. I am glad to hear things are getting better. It will probably be 1 step forward, 2 steps back for a while. You may want to tear your hair out or smother your husband with a pillow. The best you can do is hang in there for the long haul, measure your words and actions carefully, and be patient. (Now this is all without knowing the nature of the issue, so take that with a grain of salt. Oh, and I am going through some crap now with my hubby, so these words are for me as much as they are for you, BTW.)
I have a busy runaround day ahead of me, as usual, with the kids. Library, stores, tae kwan do, bike riding, you name it. I thank my surgeon every day for the extra energy the DS surgery gave me, so that I can live this active lifestyle again!

It was a very difficult day for me as well as my family. I am so exhausted and back to work. Not sure if I can make the whole day.
The energy you got is wonderful. I remember the feeling. I could hardly sit down and rest. I was always going out and doing something. It is a rush!

I have a few things that I need to do in the month. Then I will relax and lay back for a week or so before we start working again.

Dawn....hope things continue to go better with u and DH. Maybe the time with kids gone you can talk and spend time together and talk about where you are at. It can be good sometimes just to get it out in the open. It may have nothing at all to do with you and he may need to share what he is feeling.
I am going to doc who did my back surgery today. Val (Willow) has graciously offered to drive me. I see Dr Rantis tomorrow and hopefully get a drain out and he will clear me to drive.

I have to go home tomorrow, one day early from vacation, but it's good news. I have to have my pre-op testing and I need to get the house and myself ready for next week. Surgery is a week from tomorrow. I have been on the liquid diet for 3 days and I am getting used to the hunger. It's nice to know that there is an end and a new beginning in sight!
