Sunday Roll Call

Hello everyone

Long time to no see.  I have been having major internet problems and Comcast is absolutely no help at all.  So I haven't had any internet service at home for almost a month now.  Comcast is dragging their feet.  I need new wiring. I'm so very frustrated...you have no idea.  So I have temporarily been able to get wifi service at Starbucks.  I thought I would check in so you guys know I haven't dropped of the edge of the world.

I got my third fill last Friday.  I think maybe one more will do it.  I'm feeling a lot more restriction now.  I was at a stall before my fill but since my fill last week I have lost 5 pounds!!!  Yeah me!!! My stall is over.  I love this band.   Before the band I would stall and end up gaining.  Not anymore.

My daughter is still at the Smokey Mountains.  She can't wait to come home.  I wish she would have had fun at her internship, but she has been miserable.  But I admire the way she has stuck in there and won't give up.  So she has 3 more weeks to go.

So how has everyone been.  Have I missed a lot?

Have a wonderful Sunday.

Good morning Crystal. I'm happy that your band is working well for you. Congrats on your weight loss.

Your daughter will be home soon and you'll treasure your time with her and she will with you too.

Yesterday was the 1st day of the wake for my stepdad. The funeral home called my mom and told her that she could come in earlier to see him. Well, she called me at noontime and asked me to come over and take her there. She initially said it would be for a short time and then I could take her home and return to the funeral home later. Well, that didn't happen. She wouldn't go home. So we were there from 1:00 pm until 9:30 pm. She wouldn't budge to get something to eat, nothing! She wanted to be with him for all the time she could get. It was so emotional.

They had to put more makeup on him because she was touching him so much - the bruising on his hands was showing, she got some makeup on his suit and on the white cloth borders of the casket.

My best friend came to the wake and stayed with me until the end of the evening. I really appreciate her being there with me.
We had one of those powerpoint presentations with pictures of the families, a lot of my mom and stepdad along with music of Frank Sinatra. The pictures were so wonderful and with the music in the background, I couldn't help but break down and cry a lot. I kept thinking about how much my mom would miss him, as you could see in the pictures how much they loved each other and did so much together in their lives.

Today we have another long day at the funeral home, as the wake is from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. It sure does help to have family.

Hopefully I can rest this morning.

Wishing everyone a good day. Please keep me and family in your prayers.

Hugs and Love,
Lucy

Good Morning Crystal,

It is nice to see you again. We were all wondering where you were. Yeah, I will agree with you. Comcast and others don't want to help.

Today I will be getting my DDs cat to babysit with while they are on vacation. They are leaving for the UP of Michigan. When they drop off the fur baby,we will be having a small breakfast.. Bagels, fruit, coffee  and cookies. Not sure what I will be eating if any.

Then, i want to spend the day working on the yard. We will see how much I get done.

Other then that, nothing else is going on in my world. I have one more week to work before I will be off for most of August.

Have a great day, and stay safe.

Hugs, LISA

Mornin' Illinois

I am still at my mom's house in Canada and we are on our 3rd straight day of cold weather and being trapped inside with 4 boys.

My insurance approval came through late on Friday, so I am hoping to make my surgery date (Aug 4th) official tomorrow. The dr didn't seem to think it would be a problem.  We may end up coming home a day or two early so I can get the rest of the pre-op testing done this week.

I started my liquid diet yesterday and can honestly say that today is much better. I am still hungry a lot, but I now know that it will not kill me. I just need to leave the room when the boys eat a butter tart!

Lisa, Please ask your DD to bring some sunshine up to the UP. We are just across the river from Michigan.

Lucy, I am sorry you are going through such a tough time.  I hope all goes as well as it can for you today and I will keep you and your mom in my prayers.

I have a bubble on my leg this morning.  Losing 17 pounds in the last month had me feeling really good and I accepted too much work as well as one day taking a friend who is legally blind to see her friend in the hospital.  On days when I am out of the house I do not take my furosemide.  The fluids add up and the salt in foods when I eat out.  I have been smart and only eaten about a third of whatever I eat out then getting the to go boxes right away.  Now the fridge is full of boxes as we have eaten out three evenings in a roll.

I got lost several times yesterday.  We had been to repair a chair in Elmhurst and afterwards I decided to show Cheryl where UIC is.  I forgot the exit and there was bad traffic even on Saturday.  I got off at Central instead of Damen and wondered around lost for about an hour before finding my way back to 290.  ****ro is to say the least an interesting area.  Then I wandered to UIC and then into the loop where there was a film festival and I guess part of Venition days clogging the area around Grant Park.  Up Lakeshore and Sheridan to Rodgers park area Where I got partially lost and followed bike route signs that said Evanston but did not get me to a part of Evanston I recognized.  Found a place called Fulton Chicken in Rodgers Park I think and got turned around so the next thing I knew I was at Montrose again.  So I went a few more more majors and found my way to 90 and then home.

So anyway I am at home this morning taking what I call my P-pills.  We have heard David Nasser before at our church in Houston.  I may watch him online later but not sure.

Randy

So you have been forgiven?

Today is our day off together..  Spent the morning just being lazy sipping on our coffee reading the newspaper now heading out to see what kind of trouble we can get into.  Nothing much going on.  I like these kinda days.

Have a great day everyone!
