Midlife crisis?

I usually try to be supportive and upbeat, but today, I need a little help from my friends.........

I am having a very hard time right now.  I am terrified that my husband may be having a "midlife crisis" and I don't know WHAT to do.  He is not the same guy he has always been and has said some terribly hurtful things.  I feel that my marriage has changed and it may never be the same again.  Anyone who knows me well knows that my marriage has always been great and is very important to me

I am trying to find information about this life phase, but has anyone here dealt with this?  Any suggestions?  I REALLY need to stop crying and get on with my responsibilities.

Someone suggested smelling citrus.  I'm not sure that will do it.

If you have a strong marriage you probably have nothing to worry about.. I would just say let it run its course eventually it will fizzle out and he'll return to normal..... If he's being abusive,, and you're being reduced to tears you have NO REASON to put up with that. It might be time for a little conversation.

Oh, I've TRIED conversation.
I may be blowing this out of proportion, but my gut tells me I'm not.

Dawn I am sorry I can not give you any advice. I will keep you in my prayers that all gets better!
A few post back I had posted where my hubby was having his MLC and he put us in debt for a car thats not needed. I think it made him feel 16 again. Now I get to add one more bill to my already strtched out budget. On a lighter note though its only a 4 yr loan!

Well,, then maybe to him its nothing to worry about... Still if your crying over it,,, its a problem again it might just be something he has to deal with on his own. If he's ready to talk about he will. You cant force it. Sorry you're experiencing this

Dawn.. Big Hugs to you my friend.  I'm really sorry you are going thru this.  Maybe it's time for some "adult" alone time.  You two are so busy w/ all the kids activities and it sounds as if you are both just seeing each other in passing as you take one here and the other there.  I applaud you and your hubby for being so active but it sounds like you need to reconnect one on one.

You will be in my prayers that it all settles down.

Dawn, I was about to say the same things as Christina, but let me add one more,. Maybe you and Todd could talk to a professional and see if it is you, him, or both of you. This does seem to happen to a lot of people, where lives seem to drift apart and change. Take ME time for the both of you. Even if it is just to take a walk. Dawn, you are loved by more then just your real family. This family will help you as much as we are abled to.

I asked him to go with me to see someone and he refuses.  He says it is ALL my problem.
I plan on talking to someone on my own to help me deal with this.
I just never expected this to happen to us.
