Update on Cheority
Just wanted to let all of Cheority friends know that she had open rny on July 15, and is doing well. She told me she was a lot of pain, due to having it open. They think she may have had some issues with her heart due to surgery and she is on a cardiac floor. She went to Chicago to have the surgery done, and should be released on tomorrow to go back home to Granite City which is a four hour drive.
Please say a prayer for her. I will be visiting and checking up on her when she gets back home.
Paula
Cheroity, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
I wish you a speedy recovery!

I had an open done on the 14th of July, 2009 here in chicago, at the Jesse Brown V.A. Medical Center. Initially the pain was unbearable. (day one) Pain meds were on the spot and able to hang in there. Each day gets. better to the point i was discharged on the 17th of july. I was told discharge should not occur until you pass gas and have a Bowel Movement .I passed gas and was very mobile, so i was discharged without a BM. At 2:30am everthing that was suppose to come out did. Time span lasted 30min plus and smell was not aromatic by no means and color was a deep purple and very troubling to my mind. I was able to wake my wife by knocking on the bathroom wall. She, noticed the disturbing site and wanted to call medical personnel. I began feeling 100% better and cleaned up and went back to bed. Woke up fresh this morning very little pain and hungry. I called Joy, my nurse practicioner, and after listening to my story she explained to me about the color which is the dye used to detect leaks and the stool softeners.
Five days out and feeling good.
