Hey,
You and I are having our RNY on the same day!   I am in the same boat as you, starting to get very nervous about the surgery! Mine was moved up from August and I had no time to prepare. I took the tour of the hospital today and I start my pre-op liquid diet tomorrow. I will be thinking about you on Wednesday and will be checking on here for your progress after the surgery as well! Good luck to you and I hope you have a speedy recovery with a flawless surgery!

Being nervous is very normal.  But afterwards you will ask yourself   "What was I nervous about?"  This is such and exciting ride!  Good luck on you pre op diet.  The first few days are the hardest.  Just keep in mind your goal of surgery.  Whenever I was tempted, I remembered that the reason for the diet was to shrink my liver so the surgeon had more room.  If there is not enough room there is a chance that he can nick your liver, turn a lap surgery into and open surgery or, close you up and say no surgery.  That was enough to keep me on the straight and narrow!  Hot tea and sugar free Popsicles were my friends.  Good luck to you next week!  Remember to walk, walk, walk and sip, sip sip after surgery.  We have a spot on the loser's bench reserved for you!

Ur right, this last nerve is the worst.  I will keep you in my prayers!  Just say a little prayer as you go into surgery and keep happy thoughts and all will be fine. Think about all you will be able to do this time next yr that you can not do this yr. God Bless You!

Nerves normal as you say.. But, you'll be fine. We all made it through. Surgery is MONDAY??? Starting Monday night you might feel a little buyers remorse as they say you may wonder what that hell you were thinking and then slowly everything will start to get back to normal. No sweat.. You're recovery will go by so fast. Then you'll think about all the months leading up to it and then you'll wonder again what the big deal was.
You're in all of our thoughts congratulations.

No, I think her surgery is Wednesday the 15th, looks like she has some traveling to do. Just my guess, I could be wrong. Granite City is a lil bit of a drive from Chicago.

Hey Ladies,
Good luck to you both!  I will keep you both in the prayers from this part of the state.  In return you are going to have to share your wealth of knowledge with those of us that are following in your footsteps.  Any hints as to what makes it easier are always welcome.  I hope that I will be in your shoes soon looking for reassurance.
