Chicago area support group?

Does any one know of a support group in the Chicago area? I'm near Midway, so anything south or southwest works great. Travel to the western suburbs works well. My surgeon's support group meets at a time that I simply can't make it to.

There is one at UIC.

Look at their website for the info.

There are probably a bunch of them around the city.

I got my surgery at UIC. I have a Doctor appointment tomorrow I will try to get some info for you.

Dr. Gerald Cahill's office has the following in the Evergreen Park area:

Support Group (public welcome)
Meeting focus is for patients less than one year out from surgery and guests interested in learning about Gastric Bypass and Lap-Band Surgery. Usually meets on the first Tuesday of the month.  Check this page for updates.  Each group has its own meeting to meet the individual and different needs of Gastric Bypass patients and Lap-Band patients.

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, this group meets at the same time as the group my surgeon has. Seems like no matter how hard I try, I can't get that 1st Tuesday of the month freed up!

I go to a DS/VSG one in Chicago, so that won't exactly work for you.

Have you tried Northwestern ones? When I thought I was going to have the RNY, I went to a few of theirs. Lots of people. Here's the link:
