SUNDAYS ROLL CALL

Morning my IL family,

I am typing in blue today because that's my mood...blue, down, depressed.  It seems that just when Mike and I seem to start getting a tiny bit ahead with money problems, we get knocked back down 10X as hard.  My van lost the power steerting yesterday...while I was driving and turning from Winfield Rd onto Rt 38! I almost hit a car that was in the turn lane on 38 because all of a sudden I couldn't turn the wheel. Mike had to reach over and grab the wheeel with me and yank.  We managed to get to a parking lot, while the car started smoking and it was pouring in the vents.  We cannot afford to buy a new vehicle right now and it's gonna cost just over $1000 to fix it.  It's got over 100K miles on it already too.  It just makes me want to cry.

anyway, no plans today....just trying to figure out what we're gonna do.

Have a good day everyone!

Monica

Oh Monica.... I feel so bad for you.  It seems like when it rains it pours.  That is how our fall went, one thing after another.

Big Hugs to you dear friend, Paulette

Monica, i think we all have been hit with big bills this winter. I really do feel for ya. Last summer we had to replace the AC unit in my van, and that was almost 1000. In January it was the wiper motor, another 300. And now, we have a leak somewhere. Its a never ending battle of us verses our machines.

Hugs

Lisa

monica-  Like I said on Facebook the samething happened to me.  I spent $2000 on a transmission and then after that one thing after another started to break down on my car.  I did finally give in and buy a new car.  Last year, I still regret pouring all that money into that car.  Who knows maybe after you find a job you can buy another car.

I have not slept well the last two nights either.  Are we in for an earthquake or is it just the movements of melting snow and ice creaking and snapping and keeping us tumbling in our beds.

So you have been forgiven?

Good Morning all,

Trying to get this day started since I was feeling slow this morning, although I have been up since before 6 am.  Maybe time for some more coffee.  Earl slept in until 8, he has been off his Enbrel since before the surgery so it makes quite a difference for him, he gets tired very easily and takes lots of naps.  His stitches come out on Wednesday so he can start the Enbrel back on Thursday but it will take about 4-6 weeks before he feels any difference from it.  But as Christine said the other day, at least we are on the top side of the grass, so much to be grateful for! The girls and I are finally over our upper respiratory thing, no more pain in the chest for me, so I actually feel like doing something.  Super Bowl party today, should be fun.

I am ready to feel Spring after the sunshine yesterday and this am. I think my coffee just kicked in or maybe just the thought of Spring...LOL!

My food, protein and water have all been better the last week, I actually lost 4 of the 7 pounds I gained the beginning of the month.  Now I just need to get some regularly scheduled exercise in.....

I hope you all have a great day!
Hugs, Paulette

Good morning friends!

i've been sleeping better than ever since we went to Barbados, so I don't fit the profile of not sleeping this week. One night I slept 12 hours!

Last night we went out to dinner with some of the women we knit with and their husbands, then one of them asked us over to their home. We sat and laughed until 11:30! It was an amazing night! I am really enjoying these new friends who are all people I would have never met otherwise. It just makes me realize that there are friends out there just waiting to be met!

The weather yesterday was so beautiful, it really seemed like spring will happen some day! I have to go to Madison tomorrow for a slight unfill so I hope it stays nice one more day.

Have a great day folks!

"There are friends out there just waiting to be met."

That's a lovely thought, Connie.

Strangely enough, Aruba's toursim dept has a new TV ad that says "Aruba: 90,000 friends you haven't met yet."

I'm sure it's just the weather, but boy did I want to book a trip there last night when I saw it!

Well Aruba is one place I haven't been yet, so I'll put it on my list! You know I really enjoy meeting people because I think people are interesting. Several of our close friends have moved away and I am really missing them and had kind of felt sorry for myself, and now I realize I have made a number of new friends without actually setting out to do that. It's pretty amazing!
