First off I wish to personally thank the people *****sponded to my previous post.  I really appreciate it ..It was a hard day for me but I just read what everyone wrote and kept plugging along.  Also, sorry for not responding to each of you personally I have become a victim to a germ ball I fondly refer to as my son....he passed along a nasty little cold which he bounced back from within a day...and I have been battling it for two days going on three

Secondly,

this is an amazing board when I was getting mad I was just reading through some of the posts and profiles and it really cheered me up

Thirdly,

So everything is done...except for the psych appointment...round two tommorrow.

Let's hope she'll write me a letter of clearance regardless of her personal views on WLS

but, One minor set back..My primary refuses to return my call...I need the letter from her on her knowledge etc of the surgery.  I called yesterday and left a message with the receptionist, I wanted to know if the letter was done now or was she waiting for the pulmonologist report and possibly the sleep study even though she wasn't the dr who ordered it, and I told her its no major hurry because I obviously still have to go the doc tommorrow...However I told her to please call me by today just so I can touch base.

NOTHING

I then called today and was told the doc is gone until Monday ok....but if this is how its going to be I am wondering if I should just get all of my reports and stuff faxed to me...including the letter and then I forward them to the surgeons office...so yea...nothing else besides that

Hi airforcewifey.

I'm sorry to hear that you're getting put off by your primary care doc. I'm just wondering if you are able to go to the office to clear things up. It's just a thought. Then they would have to deal with you and take care of it.

I had to be on top of the surgeon's office to make sure all my reports came in, otherwise nothing got done. Every time I called, it was something else that they were waiting for.

Wishing you success in this endeavor. Hope you're feeling better!

Hugs,
Lucy

I would agree, make an appointment to see the doc.  Who knows what's going on in the office.
Hang in there!

 Hi

I have a PCP that is allergic to paper work.  I have to practically sit on him to get it done.    I made myself a PITA to the staff by calling and/or visiting the office to get the letter.  I also said I would make an appointment if that was what it would take to get the letter done.  I worked closely with the office manager to get that letter pried out of his hot little hands.  It did get done but it also took time.  I have learned to start nagging hime early when I need something like this.

I say get copies of everything just in case things get misplaced! The first doc I was seeing shut up office after everything was faxed to him. So I had to get copies of everything for the new doc because reports done lets say from your psych doc and faxed to your surgeon can not be sent to a different surgeon if for some reason he does not do your surgery! So just have your back up.  This all due to the privacy act.

If your primary doesn't get you what you need just show up at his office and tell them you need it and that it should not be based on his views of surgery but what is in the best interest of the patient.
