Saturday Roll Call
Do not complain about the weather because if you are reading this then you are above ground and not six feet under. You generally will not hear me complain about the weather as I am just plain grateful to be alive and enjoying life to the fullest PO. Just keep this in mind - it is what it is, you really cannot change it (the weather)
Serving lunch to the team here in about 6 hours then staying for the rehearsal and first service. Afterwards maybe dinner with some friends or home.

Good morning Illinoisans!
This is the first morning since I got home that I actually woke up early without an alarm. I guess traveling takes more out of me than I realized with the time change difference and also following up a trip with Kay's surgery. She has been tired too, but has had absolutely no pain--amazing!
I have a appointment with the doc on Monday and think I need a slight unfill. I am finding that no matter what I eat in the morning, it doesn't stay down. Then by lunch I can eat almost anything. These bands are weird, but looser is better even if I have to choose more carefully.
Today is another day of knitting. I love being at the store when the new yarns come in and getting first pick. I have made some gorgeous pairs of socks and just finished an amazing sweater. Today I plan to start a summer sweater to take on our next trip.
Have a great day!

You are right. We can't control the weather, and we choose to say in the frozen tundra. So we really can't complain. And, the nice days do outshine the bad. It is sunny right now, and supose to reach above 30 today. I hope it does, since my van, which is silver, is almost all white from the spray of trucks on the interstate.
Connie, where is your next vacation taking you?
Nothing much on the agenda today. Just some errands this morning, including a van wash. I also want to work on a couple of projects that I have going.
Have a great day, stay safe and warm.
Hugs
Lisa
Thank you for the reminder Chris, you are SO right. We should all be thankful we are alive and can deal with what life hands us. Including the weather which, like you said, we can't control anyway. Hey, the sun it out! woohoo....
Today I am taking Tyler to register for baseball...yep pretty soon another sport starts! lol then take Jacob to Border's to get the 3rd book in a series he's been reading and then home to do laundry and homework. We might be going to MIke's brother's house later, but it all depends on his wife's dentist appt goes later.
Tomorrow, no plans....just whatever happens, happens.
Have a wonderful, warm, sunny and safe day today!
It is a balmy 30 degrees here this moning. Dave hasn"t checked in yet so he must be out rolling around neked in the snow!

Nothing special today. I should work on my taxes this weekend. I think I have gotten all the forms I need back to do them. I usually get everything prepared then on to the accountant. I also have my errands to run today as well.
Enjoy the sunshiny day. I got my car desalted on Thursday. It was good to see a color other than white on it. Clean cars look so much better. It probably wont last as the snow melts, but that is one less layer on it.
Have a great weekend!

Well, I've got my own opinion and sure why not! I'll complain about the weather. It still was darn cold this morning. Just cause I am alive and thank God for that, I still have the right to say whatever about the weather or anything else, as long as I don't offend or hurt anyone. Just my two cents worth. It's sure better than some of the other parts of the country. Ah, weather is an everyday subject. Winter, spring, summer or fall. It has its good and not so good points. There are many things we can't change, but we can still talk about it. I guess this touched my funnybone!
Today, I've been busy with getting things done before my trip to see Mom. More packing to do....
Wishing everyone a nice afternoon and evening no matter what's going on in your life!
Hugs,
Lucy

We called down to Kentucky this morning and our kid and grandkids have water again but may be without electricity for months.
Went to Computer Connection this morning and there was a light group we suppose because of the Men's breakfast.
DW was in Harvest and then came to get me and we went in search of ethnick foods. We had chili relleno tacos on Palatine, picked up Indian sweets and samoas on Rand at Zum Zums and then went over on Dundee under the directions of the counter guy at the Chinese place next to Zum Zum's. Asian market in Woodcraft center we had been told about but had not been able to find until today. They go down to China town on F-S+S to pick up packs of chickens feet, roast duck and roast pig. All they had left when we got there was chickens feet. Picked up a HOT chili sauce and Hoisin sauce that I like as well.
Have you been to any of the many Oriental markets (small stores) that are in various strip malls in the area of where you live? I know of a few in Hoffman, Elk Grove Village and Hanover Park etc. I would guess that Arlington Hts, Elk Grove Village and Rolling Meadows have a few also as they have a rather large Oriental population. How about Mitsuwa at Arlington Hts & Algonquin Rds (NE corner)? That is a really large oriental store I think technically in Arlington Hts. Mitsuwa advertises on our Comcast cable. We have been there before and really enjoyed our experience, it is really clean. I am not really sure what you are in the market for. If you are really interested in Oriental markets that you would like to try I can ask some really good friends (also Willow people) that are Korean and shop at the different Oriental markets in your general area as they live really close to Willow in Hoffman Ests. Let me know.
