Holy Crap its Monday Roll Call already!
Good Morning Illinois!
I've gotten Nic off to school and Meredith fead and changed twice! At 10:30 we will go to storytime at the local library and then down to Elgin to pick up our milk. Then back to pick Nic up from school. Tonight is Nic's pack meeting and then home and to bed to get up tomorrow and start all over again! This stay at home dad stuff is work! Not much else going on. Being at home has allowed me to do more food planning and that's been good. Still not much movement in my weight,

Good morning all!
Lucy - I just love your attitude and you are a true motivator for me just starting this WLS journey.
It seems like so long ago I had the surgery - but it has only been a month.
Not much today - I am a Single Mom for a few days as DH is at a class in Springfield until Wednesday night. Got DS to daycare and was at work just a little after 8, so not too bad.
I am really starting to get comments from people now and really saw how different I look when DH took my 'month out' pics for me and I looked at them and my pics from 2 days before side by side. I posted them on my profile if anyone wants to take a look.
Had my first person/aquaintance say "I wish my weight would come off that easy." I just responded, "It's not easy, don't kid yourself." And then told her some of the things that we have to go through. So that shut her and everyone else up...I wasn't mean, I just don't want people to think that this is easy, because I don't think it is.
Have a great day!

Good morning natagirl. Thank you for mentioning me here. If I can help someone who is just starting, that is great and why we are here on OH. If you can learn from my mistakes, that's another plus.
It's an amazing transformation. I remember my first year. Wow, what a rollercoaster ride it was. Then, I kept on getting compliments. Now, nothing. Of course, I had gained some weight so people are being polite and not saying anything.
Normal people (who don't have the issues we have with food) don't understand and think that it is the easy way out. That is the farthest from the truth. Our lifestyles are so much more complicated.
Take care and have a wonderful day!

Good morning Dave and the rest of Illinois!
I am back at work this morning and have to help after work at the kids' school with Market Day. I guess I can do it once a month, although it kind of negates the fun I was having getting home so early. Oh well......
I have been a busy beaver posting breakfast ideas...check 'em out. I'm sure you will find something you like. Of course, you got me to thinking too (always dangerous.....). One way to add protein to lots of things is to add powdered skim milk. Crazy, but true.
Another thought for variety is SHRIMP! Shrimp has the best protein value for the space and the buck. Since you have limited space, a bag of shrimp lasts MUCH longer than it would have before. I try to have a bag on hand and thawed as often as possible. Wal-Mart has bags relatively inexpensively, and Aldi's is even less expensive. 4-5 medium shrimp are a great protein filled meal, and once you can have salad (if you can't yet....) they are great on top of romaine! They are even great for snacks!
Well, that's about it for me today.....see you all later!

Good Morning Illinois,
Was off to an early start this morning. By Jen's at 6:15, got Cheyanne to school, then the bank & post office. Earl is at Physical therapy (he insisted on driving himself) so Sami and I are at home waiting for him to get back so I can finish the rest of the Monday morning madness. Have to go to the other bank in town, then Sam's Club to exchange a fleece jacket, and drop Sami off at 11:30 for school.
Yesterday was not a very good food day for me. I played on the computer and worked on my desk all day, even stayed in my jammies, I could not warm up. Skipped lunch and snacks so by dinner time I was famished. Ate while I was cooking, then ate some more, finished off a bag of beef jerky and some crackers... Well this morning I am paying for eating the jerky, my hands, fingers and feet are swollen. I knew this would happen but ate the darn jerky anyway. Why do we do this crap to ourselves? Ok so back on track this am. Ate a sensible breakfast, planned out snacks, an orange later this am and an apple this afternoon. Lunch will be salad, dinner Mesquite chicken breasts and wild rice. Also need to make sure I drink extra water today and get some exercise in. After sitting all day at the desk, I am so stiff, my back, legs and knees ache.
Today will be a better day! Hugs, Paulette

Good morning all! We got home this morning about 2AM which was 4AM based on the time we had gotten up. Don't hate us but we have been in Barbados for ten days. We took a cruise which went to St. Kitts, St. Bart's, St Martin, etc and the weather was beyond belief. Did well with food, but did get stuck on the last day, probably from being anxious about making all the connections. Once we were on the plane I did some mediation and deep breathing and finally had a cup of ho****er which seemed to relax the band. Then I felt fine. Now we are overwhelmed with laundry and I need to get dressed and go to work!
Take care!
