Sunday Roll Call

Good Sunday morning everyone!

YAY, I got through day 2 at 100%. No problems with eating protein either.

I had low fat cheese for breakfast, baked tilapia for lunch (we went out for lunch) - no bread, salad. Dinner was vegetarian chili with 3 meatless meatballs, and then 2% Fage yogurt with cinammon in it.

Lots of water too. No drinking with meals. YAY!!!

Today I am starting my exercise too. 30 minutes a day - on my Tony Little Gazelle and eliptical rider.

I'm keeping focused on my goal that is to become healthier again and happy. Each day makes me stronger and stronger. I will do this!

I should be getting a call from the bank today about figures on my mortgage. She called me while I was out yesterday and when I called her back, she was going out for the evening and said she would call me back today.

I hope everyone is doing well.

You don't know how much your support has meant to me.

I just love my OH friends and miss everyone who hasn't been here in sometime like Ronna and Pam.

Take care, stay warm and enjoy the day. I know that I will.

Hugs and Love,
Lucy

Good Morning Lucy and the rest of my IL family

Lucy, I am SO thrilled that things are turning around for you!  I will have to check yesterdays roll call to see what happened at the Dr with you on Friday!

Today I am heading out early (like now) to go to the fire station and take a CPR/AED class so I can get certified.  It should make it easier to get a job in a hosptial then.  I am excited about it!  lol  pathetic I know.  The class is from 8-12 and then I have to go and take care of a dog we're watching at her house.  After that I have to run to Streamwood to pick up the boys.  Tyler hurt his knee in his wrestling match on Friday and I am anxious to see how he's doing.  Might be going to the Dr thsi week for that, we'll see.

Well I gotta run!!  Have a wonderful, WARM and safe day today everyone!!

Monica

Good morning Monica.

You've got a very busy day indeed. Hope it all works out for you and Tyler feels better soon. You'll feel great when you accomplish your goal of getting CPR certified. I am proud of you.

Me, getting into a better frame of mind. I can tell you that yesterday was definitely a challenge with my sister. I know she loves me, but eating is not for me. I had to really focus on what I was eating or not eating yesterday. It was tough. She wanted to get some Dunkin Donuts and ice cream too. I was tempted but held firm. I know what I really want and it isn't that junk anymore.

Thanks for your support and message today.

Stay warm.

Hugs,
Lucy

Good Morning Illinois,

I had a restless night so I got up early to  try and  make some sense and order out of my office desk.  But thought I'd stop by OH instead of tackling my desk , a must since I keep putting it off, and now it has an avalanche of papers on it!   I think I have a problem with focusing......

Yesterday was the first day where my cough seems to be under control.  I took the 12 hour Mucinex, that seemed to work better than the every 4 hour one. Hopefully this cough will soon be behind me.  It is 4* here so another cold day, although they are showing the possibility of snow or flurries here.  I have lots of things to do here at home so I won't mind staying in.

I had planned to stay in yesterday but our daughter called yesterday morning saying they had house guests. Apparently Mickey & Minnie Mouse came for a visit.  She and the girls were freaking out.  So Nana & Papa went to check it out.  Didn't see the guests but saw evidence they have been visiting and probably for awhile.  So we helped clean out the pantry/utility room and kitchen.  Convinced Jen & the girls that they don''t have rats!!!  just probably some field mice looking for a warm place and a meal...Oy!!   Samantha kept saying "I don't like Rats or Mice.."  Cheyanne decided no more sleeping on the floor anymore.  Reminded the girls not to leave food lying around, although usually their dog eats anything he can get!!. We threw out anything questionable, seems they like Fruit Loops and Pop Tarts....so out the cereals and pop tarts went,  Most of the rest that wasn't already in containers or cans looked fine, no sign of nibblers.. Jen washed all the other stuff that she stores in the pantry and put all the extra baking pans and containers in Rubbermaid tubs. Laundry was all caught up so nothing there at least.  Earl put some bait boxes in the pantry and under the sink, and in the attic but we didn't see any nests or anything just trails of where they have been.  They maybe are outside by now although with the cold weather that is when they look for a warm place.

Good morning Paulette. Sorry to hear about your experience with the house guests. EEK! I hate those creatures. I had an experience with mice years ago. Nothing freaks me out like mice. My father found out where they were coming in from. I had my air conditioner replaced and the installer left a hole from the outside of my house open that through a pipe connects to my kitchen closet that has the sewer, water heater and furnace/AC unit. So, they had a free hotel stay. They could come in and go out as they wanted. Yikes!! He stuffed the hole with steel wool and that took care of the problem.

Sweetie, you need some rest! I hope you get some today.

Take care and say "Hi" to Earl for me.

Hugs,
Lucy

Hi Lucy,

Earl is sleeping in this am, lucky boy, but I'll tell him hi when he is awake.  He always asks how everyone is doing here.  He is going by jen's this afternoon to walk the outside and see if he can tell where the critters came in from and if there are any holes stick some steel wool in them.  She had some tuckpointing done on the brick of her house before winter but our friend wasn't able to get it all finished.  He'll be back when the weather is warm enough to  finish.  Earl has done alot of cleaning out in her garage on the warmer days  so I think he disturbed the mice homes outside and chased them in...LOL!!

Congrats on geting back on track..

Good morning Lucy and Illinois.

I haven't been around a lot lately, seems like everything had piled on me again, and I don't want every post I make a downer, but I need to vent a little, and here it goes...

I can't lift my mom anymore.  It is killing me.  I strained my back again, and still having shoulder and neck problems.  If I don't quit lifting her, I could end up disabled for life.

Mom has severe bronchitis, and I am worried about that.  I know mom has been through a lot, and I don't expect her to be around forever, but it is hard to explain.  My father died when I was 12, and for years it was just mom and me since my siblings are 18, 16, and 13 years older than me.

My DH is on me to get a job.  We really need the money, just hard to find one, and especially with the hours I need.  I may have to end up at fast food place.  Don't really want too, but I need something.  It is hard when you haven't worked for 10 years.

My 41st birthday is Friday, and it i****ting me harder than my 40th...lol  I think I am PMSing.  I need chocolate.

Eating has been bad, and I haven't really cared.  I have no support except for what I get here.

Sorry for the vent, sometimes you just need too.

Dee

Good morning Dee. Sounds like you are in a dilemma about your Mom. You are going to have to decide what is right for you -needing to be healthy. I don't have an answer about your Mom. I can see how it happened that you have been burdened with the responsibility of taking care of your mom. It's a hard decision for you to make. If you get disabled for life, you won't be able to do anything for your Mom or your family.

I sure can understand about eating; I think all of us can. Do the best you can at this time. That's all you can do.

Hugs,
Lucy

Lucy,

I know if anyone understood, it would be you.  I think I also need to talk to my surgeon, who has now moved to Oregon, and the guy that was her partner is hard to get into.  I was 2 years in September, and I still haven't had my 2 year appointment.

Oh, Dee I do understand and my heart goes out to you.

I avoided seeing my doc because I felt so bad about my regain and so ashamed. I knew that I had to get over it and see him. **Willow** (Val) helped me accept what happened and to go and see the doc.

I was honest with him and told him that it was not only the tight band, but I was grazing and eating the "not so good" foods all the time. It sure helped that he was understanding and supportive, not judgmental like a lot of doctors are.

We are here for you Dee.
