Hi everyone - new to the boards
I have been lurking for a few months but after reading through a lot of your helpful information my wife and I have decided to pursue WLS . To date my wife and I have completed our first seminar, consultation and go in for our first weigh-in on Feb 3, 2009. I have opted for a VSG and my wife is currently looking at the Band since she doesn't have as much to shed. I am also trying to nail down appointments with the Psychologist, Pumonologist, and Cardiologist. I just wanted to say hello to everyone and thank you guys/gals for sharing your experiences.
Thanks,
Omar
Thanks,
Omar
Hi, Omar! And welcome out of lurkdom!
Neat that you and your wife are having different surgeries--that should make things interesting around the house. LOL.
The VSG is the first part of the Duodenal Switch, the type of surgery I had. The VSG is fairly new as a stand-alone procedure for weight loss, with no real long-term stats yet, so I hope you'll become a regular on the VSG board here on OH, too. I'm sure those folks have a lot of info and experience to share on life and maintenance.

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!
