Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!

Good morning Dave and the rest of Illinois!

If there is a recipe in particular that you need, please ask.......I have an extensive collection.

I am working today, and hopeful for the new president also.  I wish I could watch, but I will catch it on the news.  I agree with Paul completely.....I really hope that Mr. Obama can do all he says that he will do, and I hope that he turns out to be at least half as good as he seems.  On the other hand, I think anything will be an improvement.  (Lots of "hope" going on......)

Tonight is "taco Tuesday" at my house.  I may just have beans and cheese, I am really trying to get a handle on the 5 pounds that I have gained through grazing.  To that end, I am going to get back to protein, protein, protein with a few veggies thrown in.  I have an interesting recipe to post as an R.O.D. later on.

I visited with my Aunt yesterday, but it was mostly jus****ching inaguration coverage.  She has her TV on 24/7.

The kids had fun at the museum yesterday, and Liv may have a project for her Girl Scout Silver Award.  She is going to help the museum apply for a grant to get recycling bins throughout the museum park and building.  I am proud of her, what a good kid.  She has a very busy weekend coming up and I hope she figures out when to rest.  Friday is a Girl Scout lock-in, Saturday she is helping at a Jr. Badge workshop all day, then Sunday, they have to work at the museum's "Sizzling Sunday" from 12-5.  Anyone in the area with kids might want to check it out.

That's about it for me today!

May your day be filled with "hope"!

My daughter would love your daughter.  She is an Environmental Science major.  My daughter sort of did the same thing at her high school.  Her and a friend lobbied to have recycling bins in all the classrooms.  Maybe your daughter will study environmental science one day too.

We as a family are really into recycling.  We started having four different types of garbage (garbage, plastic, paper and cans) long before it was "fashionable".   I now have a compost bin too.

Liv will be 13 in May and hopes to be a Marine Biologist, so she will be studying Environmental Science at some time.

It is so cool to meet people that we have so mu*****ommon with!

we got lucky - our garbage collection comapny gave us a HUGE recycle bin on wheels, and we dont even have to sort it. It encourages us to recylcle more than ever.

I have been composting for a long time - it is fabulous for the garden. One of my neighbors was asking me where was I getting all those wheelbarrows of dirt I was puttting on my garden. when I told him from my compost bin he was shocked, because he didn't smell any thing, I had to educate him about proper composting and that if done properly it has very little odor. I occasioannly get weird plants popping up from something I threw in to the compost bin - if there are seeds from a vegetable or something it grows vigorously!

Good morning,

I don't have the kids today.  This will be a total treat for me.  I think I may do a little shopping and then home to knitt and scrapbook.

Lucy, please don't give up on your band.  I still vomit from time to time.  It's almost taken me a year to start listening to my body.  I know what you mean about all the foods that agree with you are the foods that got us in trouble in the first place.  My view is that anything in moderation is good.  I still can not eat the amount and the portions that I used to!!!  So that's a plus!  Please...if you have any questions or need a pep talk, yo know that I'm here for you!

I hope everyone has a good day and I will keep everyone in my prayers.  Paul, I'm thinking of you and your family.

Kim

Good morning everyone!

Well, I am back at work.  I got my revised schedule from my supervising teacher.  It's not too bad.  I am annoyed teacher disregarded my request to hold on to guided reading books until I got back (I am in charge of the three book rooms where they are stored).  The primary book room has a whole slew of books that were returned while I was on medical leave.  I'll have to deal with it as I can/

Also, I guess I found out what the foamies are.  I did okay when I have lunch with my parents.  I had a cup of soup.  My dad gave me some of his goulash to try.  I ordered food I liked, but took it all home.  I fixed some of it for dinner.  About 10 minutes after eating it, it started coming back up.  Just from the stomach, no diarrhea, thank goodness.  And it was gentle coming up.   I think the problem was the breaded pork tenderloin.  A couple of hours later, I had some pureed soup and that stayed down fine.

Wish you all well.  I hope you are healthy and warm.
