WOW, I can cook!

Pre-op I used to go out to eat for every meal. (Wonder why I was almost 500lbs)

I cook once in a while, but not usually.

So now, post-op. I don't want to go out to eat, but as little as possible. (Going out with friends etc..)

But I can never find anything I can eat that I want to eat. I am sick of cottage cheese, chili and tuna/chicken salad.

So I made turkey meatballs today, and they were soooooo good I had to tell everyone.

It isn't a recipe I just dumpped stuff together and it turned out.

I put together 1lbs of turkey (In a tube from Walmart), about 3/4 cup of regular oatmeal, 2 eggs, onion (about a 1/2 cup diced really fine.), garlic powder, black pepper, and a little taco seasoning. (I wanted chili, but I didn't have any)

Made balls and threw them in the oven for about 15 minutes at 400 deg.

Then I mixed some spagetti sauce and water about 1/4 water. Put the meatballs in the sauce and simmered them for about 15 mire minutes.

They are the best.

So now I will freeze them, and when I want to eat I just pop one in the microwave. I made about 20 meatballs.  I figure 2 is a meal for me.

sounds good. I make the turkey meat balls  all the  time. I make a sauce with tomatoes, fresh zuccini, garlic, peppers, onions, and simmer it all until it comes together and the flavors blend. I use italian herb in the meatballs and no oatmeal - I use a little parmesan cheese & a egg to help them bind together. they are also goods using 1/2 turkey hot italian sausage mixed with the ground turkey. serve it with a little barilla plus high protein / high fiber pasta.

the ground turkey makes a good chili too - I spice it up a little more since the turkey can be a little more bland and I like my food a little spicy and flavorful.

( I l   ove to cook!)

I don't usually eat hamburger. I was never a big fan of red meat.

The hot date went ok.

She wasn't what she made herself out to be on the phone.

And you thought men only lied about things when dating.

I'm gonna make some too!

I found a bag of frozen turkey meatballs at the grocery store the other day.  I bought them but haven't tried them yet.

I can't wait to get off all protein!
