Good Morning Illinois!  It's been a while since I was the one getting everything started.  I got up to shovel the first round of snow.  Not too bad yet, but I'm hoping it helps a little.  Turns out that my snowblower was frozen solid and I broke the belt by trying to run it.  We used heat guns to melt the ice and then replaced the belt.  I didn't use it this morning since the snow was not that deep, but it's ready for tonight!  I started my work outs last night and it went well.  I am doing a zone type of training in which I run for 5 minutes then walk to cool down then run then walk, etc...  I did it for 30 minutes and felt very pooped afterwards, but I built a good sweat and will continue to follow the plan for now.  I'm hopine this gets the matabolism going/  Stay warm, it is cold out there and getting colder!

Good Morning Paul and all my frozen Illinois Family.

We have about 4 inches of new snow on the ground, as well as wind and it is still snowing. I am hoping to make it to work this morning, since this is the day I drive about 30 miles, and its 1/2 on country highways. The plows are out, but we will see. I know I should stay home, but the work gene in me won't let me at least try.

I think I am getting back on track. I have lost the holiday gain, and am back to exercising. My goal for 2009 is to lose at least 50 lbs, or a little more. This will put me at my Dr's goal weight for me.

My peppermint coffee is done, and I need to get dressed and get going with this day.

Stay warm, dress warm, and be safe.

Hugs

Lisa

Hello everyone

It's really nasty outside.  I drove into work fine, I just drove nice and slow.

Well yesterday the corporate people never made it in, we were not given a reason.  So they will be here today.  They are coming at the worst possible time.  There are no phones, half of the department is at another location and 15 people had to move into temporary cubicles because they are going to be starting construction.  I never met these people but I dislike them intensely.

I know someone here mentioned their kid applying for internships.  My daughter has been doing the same thing.  Well I'm happy to say two of them have shown interest in having her.  I'm so excited.  One place is in Maryland and the other is in North Dakota.  Both are paid internships.  And more good news about my daughter.  Every year she goes on an "alternative spring break" and she volunteers some place.  Like last year she went to New Orleans and to help rebuild.  This year she was accepted to go to North Carolina and help in a wild life refuge for big cats (lions and tigers).  How exciting for her.

I pray for everyone with illnesses in their family.  I hope everyone that is sick is feeling better.  And lastly I pray for everyone with financial difficulties.

Stay warm and drive safe.

All is good here folks.  Kishwaukee College closed today so no classes there today for me.

Woo hoo. So now all I have to do is my NIU class today.

I am still off work. I decided to go back to work on Monday.

I went to Culver's last night. I had split pea soup and it was gooooood. I need to learn how to make that stuff.  It took about an hour, but finished the whole bowl. (I think it was like a cup and a half) I wanted to take some home, but didn't get to.

I feel really good today. I can't wait to get out and blow off all the snow.

I have been walking at school. I have been dying to get some walking in and school finally started. (On monday)

Well, I gotta get my son up and give him a ride to school. Its too cold to walk.

God Bless.

Dave, yes split pea soup is great. I make it with a ham bone and extra chopped up ham in it, in addition to that I like onion and carrots in it. You can go to the store and look at the bag of dried split peas as they have recipes on the bags for all that type of stuff. There is also a beavy of recipes on the internet.

Good morning Paul and IL friends.

I do know the likes of a snow shovel and love it! Now to get my head in gear with the eating!

It was a nasty ride into work this morning. I feel like we live in Minnesota.

I've got an early morning meeting to attend soon. Coffee and HOT is the best this morning.

Hope everyone stays safe and warm!

It's a busy month for this gal.

Hugs,
Lucy

Good Morning Paul and Illinois Friends!

Eskimo Nancy reporting in!    I am not sure when I moved to the frozen tundra but somehow that is where I am.  I cannot believe how cold it is and how much snow we are getting.  ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!  I do not want to go to work today.  As slow as I walk, I will be an ice cube before I get into work.

Lisa, please be careful on your drive to LaSalle.  The roads do not sound good.  Dawn, watch your commute as well.  For all of you commuters, it sounds like the worst will be the drive home tonight.  Be careful and stay safe!

Crystal, I thought about you all day yesterday and will nwo think about you today.  Hope everything goes well.

Janet and Carla, healing thoughts are with you, as well as our new post ops.  Ilsa, and others with financial woes, prayers are with you as well.

Stay warm and have a good day!

Good morning!!!  Well, today I am off to Madison's school to help out and then I have to pick up our schools spirit wear and deliver it.  My dad decided not to come out because of the cold.  I can't say that I blame him.  Last night Ryan decided to take us to Olive Garden for dinner.  It was so good.  It's been along time since the whole family has gone out to eat together.  It was so nice to just sit down and talk to the whole family!  Besides going to the school today, I will straighten the house and of course do some more knitting.  I want to start on some Valentines Gifts for Madison's teacher.  I did these last year and I will post pictures when I get them done.  They are so cute.  You take a flower vase and fill it w/ her favorite candy and then you take floral picks and stick them in the vase and cut out flowers and other cute things and glue them on the pick and you have a paper floral arangement.  I put pretty ribbon aroung the vase etc.  Well....better get going. Have a safe and great day!!!

Good Morning Paul and IL!

What a poopy day outside again!  When will this stop?  I know, it's only January!  It's snowing here and Mike has already shoveled the driveway and I only have one kid left to get off to school.  Tyler has finals today, so he only has a 1/2 day and then I get to take him back to school later for wrestling practice!  I'll stop at the store and pick up my Vitamin D supplements and also a few grocery items.  I am NOT looking forward to the temps for the next few days either.  Tyler has meets Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week!

Everyone stay warm and safe today!!

Monica
