Snowy Saturday Roll Call

 Good morning everyone!

I haven't had good internet connections and have not been posting anywhere recently.  I also didn't feel social because of news my DH brought home Wednesday.  After almost 32 years at the same company, he is out on the street in about 2 weeks.  I have been in shock ever since.  Haven't been sleeping well or concentrating on much of anything recently.  Right now, my DH is hoping to start a venture on his own if he can find financial backers.  There is a good possibility we could lose the house we just moved into three and a half years ago.  I don't want to move.

On the upside, no more bloody BM issues.

With pureed foods, I have tried chili, scrambled egg mixed with guacamole and salsa, clam chowder with extra shrimp for protein, a fruit smoothie made with kefir, greek yogurt mixed with a bit of quinoa.  Everything has been fine so far, no problems with dumping or anything.

I haven't gone out since my doctor's appointment on Tuesday.  I did spend some of my time sorting through clothes.  I separated sizes, so I can find something that fits more readily.  I have to find a place to tuck my mediums and larges away until they fit.  I also removed some 2x's from my closet in short sleeve tops.  I don't think I will need those come summer.

Stuck at the same weight since last weekend, but I have been keeping to proper portion sizes and trying to get enough liquids in.

I wish all of you health, a safe and warm weekend.

Hi Ilse. I'm sorry to hear about DH's job loss. It's understandable that you are not sleeping well and all your thoughts are about him and your financial situation.

On a positive note though, you are getting healthier day by day. Just think if you didn't have this surgery, you probably would have been eating away your stress.

Hang in there. Hopefully your DH will find his way!

Hugs,
Lucy

 ((((Ilse))))

I am so sorry to hear about your husband.  That happened to me after 25 years and I understand how devastating it can be.  But, after I got over the initial shock, things did work out for the best.  It has happened to me twice and each time, I have come out better.

This is the time to decide what you want to do in the future and not narrow yourself to the same path.  It takes some time to lick your wounds and I know the fear of paying the bills as I am alone and my sole supporter.

Hang in there.  I will say prayers for you and your family.  Things do have a way of working out.  Keep your chin up and trust that all will be well.

Ilse- sorry to hear your husband is losing his job after all these years.
Take care of yourself during these trying times. What kind of business venture is your husband interested in?

Good morning.....I'm up and going to jump in the shower soon.  I'm going to Rockford today and Connie is going to teach me to knitt!  I am so excited.  I may be a few minutes late, because I am going to wait for Ryan to get home so I can take his 4 wheel drive suv.  I promised Madison that if she stayed home and was good while I was gone that I would rent the new American Girl movie "Carissa".  It's supposed to be very good!  It's about bullying and teaches a good lesson!  Besafe out there and I'll talk to you guys later!

Good Morning Lucy and the rest of my IL friends!

I didn't have to go to Tyler's meet today because he's not wrestling, so the coach told him he could go to his dad's and not bother going to the meet!  woohoo...the weather outside looks terrible so not having to drive to Downer's Grove is a good thing!

I will most likely not being doing anything too special today, just relaxing and doing some homework later.  I have a research project to work on...yuck! lol

Please, if you have to go out, drive safe and stay warm my friends!

Monica

Hi Monica. It's a good day to stay in. I decided not to go out today. I'll visit with my sister tomorrow.

Just some laundry and on the computer today.

I've already had a lot of exercise today; one hour of shoveling snow!

Take care,
Lucy

Good morning Lucy and the rest of Illinois!

I have already talked to Janet this morning (see other post) and shoveled a path so the dog can go outside.

She ( a mini dachsand) got me up at 6 to tell me she had to go potty.  I went to let her out and the snow was higher than the screen door.  She jumped out, was COMPLETELY covered, and jumped right back in the back porch.  I tried to get her to go out on the covered front porch, but she ran up to her crate instead!  She would rather hold it than go out!

I just came in from shoveling her a path, then had to call Todd to get instructions on how to run the snow blower.  This is the first time in 6 years that I have gotten caught in the snow alone so I have never had to learn how to do it.  There is no way I could shovel our driveway---it is WAY too big.

After getting the driveway cleaned off, I am not sure what Liv and I will do.  I want to make some white chili, but I did not get enough chicken at the store last night so I may have to brave the roads and head into Durand.  Otherwise, I think we will watch movies.

Ereryone stay safe and warm!

Tell someone that you love them!
