3 Week Stall and Extremly Tired
I have been reading about the '3 Week Stall' and think that I am in it. I haven't lost any weight since Thursday...plus I am so tired I could sleep all day. Is these things that go hand in hand?
I know I should be eating three times a day, but can't make myself do it. I am eating at least 2x's a day about 1 oz at a time. Any more than that is uncomfortable. I am drinking about what I am suppose to - up to about 50 oz, so that is ok.
Is the sleepiness because my metabolism is slowing down (thinks it's starving)? Will this go away soon? I am having a hard time paying attention at work...thanks!

are you making sure you are getting enough protein? that is what your body need the most of in the first few weeks. I know for me when I don't get enough protein I don't lose ,
your body has gone through a big surgery you will be tired for a while just don't over do and get some rest and in no time you will be feeling better, but I would call the Dr if you are have a hard time with it,

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!
All I eat is protein. That is what my Dr. has us eat, no carbs, just protein.
Thanks for the pep talk...I really need that. I have a personality where I like things to go fast and I some times forget that I just had surgery...big surgery. I feel like I should be bouncing back faster than I am.

Oh my gosh girl, I was just exhasted until I was totally 2 full weeks out and we only did protien drinks for the first two. I couldn't go back to work for 3 weeks. Maybe it was just too soon to go back to work. It's a slow process. You do have to get your protien in. I'm 2 months out and I suppliment my 3 meals a day with 2 protien shakes divided up over 4 times a day. I stalled those first few weeks too. 1st I had lost a lot up front, 2nd) your still swollen and holding fluids
3) your body does think it is starving. Hang in there all of a sudden it will drop.
Best wishes.

You are perfectly normal. You DO need to make sure you get in your protein, and I recommend shakes as they are better absorbed at this time.
As far as the fatigue goes, it will also pass, but you have been through a lot. Your body needs rest. I was home for 10 days, then did half days for a week, then on to full days, but I had to nap at lunch and as soon as I got home.
Each day should get a little better.

I am going to start doing a shake for breakfast...that seemed to help the days I did it. I went to work a week after (had surgery on a Monday - was back at work the following Monday). Maybe it was to soon.
I love this place, you guys are amazing. It really helps!

OMG! You're back at work? I was sooo tired the first month or so that it was all I could do to get up in the morning. I have two small kids, so I limped through my day with them and took naps when they did!
It sounds very normal, but when will you have your first labs drawn? At 3 months out? You may want to make sure they test your iron, in addition to protein then. Those (and many other deficiencies) can cause fatigue. You had a malabsorptive surgery, so you want to stay on top of those things.
Also, I don't know your doc's protocol, but your water intake seems low. That could cause excess fatigue as well and boosting that could make you feel immediately better. If plain water isn't cutting it, maybe Crystal Light can be a change of pace?
Take care!
