Surgery Tomorrow

I'm still a new one here on the Illinois board.  I haven't had much time lately to participate in conversations with you all.  I have been inspired though by many on this board.

Tomorrow is my surgery day.  I mentioned that in the Roll Call thread.  I thought I'd start a new topic so I didn't hijack the other one. 

I'm a little nervous about tomorrow, but overall feel really good about the surgery.  I've done well on the pre-op diet. 

I'll probably be checking in a lot more once the surgery is over for advice and support from all of you "losers".    I look forward to getting to know you all.

By now you are probably in recovery or in your room!  I wish you the best and can't wait to hear about your experience.

I am having surgery on 01/12 and like you--am a bit nervous but overall feel really good about my decision!

Hi Everyone!  I had my surgery last Monday, 1/5/09.   Dr. Joyce said the surgery went beautifully.  I was pretty much out of it all day Monday.  Tuesday I was asking myself, "What have you done?"  Then my friend lckaci stopped by the hospital to see me.  She had surgery on Sept. 15th.  Just having her sit by me, walk with me, rub my back and tell me each day you'll feel better really helped me a lot. 

I loved the staff at Silver Cross.  My favorite nurse was Jennifer.  She's a riot.  My favorite CNA was Bonnie.  She made my first night there so comfortable.  She spent so much time with me helping me find a comfortable spot. 

I just gave myself my last shot.  Those aren't too bad.  My poor belly is so swollen.  I look 9 months pregnant!  The gas, oh my gosh, the gas pains are so bad, just burping every now and then.  (Just what you want to read on a Saturday morning).  I can't wait for that to pass..hee hee.  Pun intented.  

How did all of your recoveries go?  What can I expect in the coming days as far as feeling normal?
