Trying to get back on Track.
I am almost 2 years out from lap band surgery and am very happy with the decision I made 2 years ago. But now the honeymoon is really over, all the bad habits have come back, all the feelings have come back. And its time, really time for me to get back on track.
I read the daily post all the time but don't post, I hope to change that too. All of you who I have met have been so wonderful and supportive.
One of the ways I am starting to get back on track is to start taking vitamins, but I don't know what I should take, what are the better ones. So I am asking for suggestions on what to get. Maybe with some better nutrition I will make better choices.
So if anyone has a favorite vitamin that they would like to tell me about, just let me know.
Thanks
Sherry
As a bandster, vitamins are less important than for other surgery folks. A basic vitamin is all that is necessary plus some vitamin D. Being older I take Centrum Silver, but any brand is fine. I also take 1000 mg of vitamin D.
To get back on track I would suggest
1. starting with a visit to your doc to see if you could get a fill--even a small one
.2., write down everything you put in your mouth.A good place to track is fitday.com or dailyplate.com, but there are others too.
3. Eat protein first
4. eliminate white carbs, potatoes, bread, white flour, etc.
5. develop an exercise routine you will do
6. Hang out on the band board where you will get lots of support.
Good luck to you!

NOW, when was the last time that you were into you doc for a follow up? Do you need a fill? Do you need to touch base with a NUT? How about exercise? Your NUT or doc can tell you what vits you should be on. As for my doc he says that vits are recommended even for patients that have had the band but necessary for a RNY patient.
Hope you get some good info. Keep coming back and do not be a stranger anymore on the board, post and not lurk.
