Good morning Paul and the rest of Illinois!

Paul, you are doing well and consistent exercise will help in lots of ways.  Even if those last pounds don't disappear completely (and I'm guessing that most of them will) you will be stronger, healthier and buffer (is that a word?).

I have the kids here at work with me today.  They are in the lunch room (supposedly) doing homework.  We will be leaving work early this afternoon to head into EGV for the evening, then to see Jeff Dunham.  We took the day off tomorrow to get ready for New Year's Eve, then have to be back at work on Friday.

I have done OK throughout the holidays----still at the same weight.  I am starting to think that I will always be at this weight, which, although is is NOT goal-----it is better than "before".  After the first, I intend to start back up with the consistent exercise myself to see if maybe that will kick-start something.

Since I probably won't be bac****il next year-------

Everyone have a safe and VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

Tell someone that you love them!

HI ALL,

Nothing going on today. Just like yesterday. I did go to Walmart and walk around for a couple hours . I like to hold on to the cart and walk. (Like I am 80 with a walker) I figure if I lost a couple pounds I won't need the cart.

I may go to Menards or Lowe's today. That way when I buy something it is something "MANLY" like duct tape or tools. Maybe JCPenny's  I don't know why, but my sister got me a gift card there?

Actually, 2 of my sisters bought me cards that I can't use. 1 at Kohl's and 1 at JCPenny's. I walked around Kohl's for 2 hours and there is absolutely NOTHING in that store I can use. I though I could get shoes or something, but they didn't have any size 14 that I saw.

(You know what they say about guys with size 14 feet?.................. It's hard to buy shoes....Get your mind out of the gutter. )

Anyway, so thats what is probably going on today.

My 1st post-op Doctor's visit is Friday. Even though tomorrow is my 3rd week post-op. He was on vacation.

Anyway, I am feeling better today. Itching like crazy, but in no pain. Haven't eaten yet, but I made a pot of chili which will probably be our New Years dinner.

I am also making my world famous Shrimp dip. I take cream cheese and mix in some worcester sauce then spread it in the bottom of a glass dish. Then I take a can of baby shrimp (I think it is called tiny shrimp) and mix it with a jar of ****tail sauce and spread it on top of the creamcheese. Then I dump another can of baby shrimp or two on top of the ****tail sauce. Then I put shredded cheese on top of that. Eat it on Ritz crackers and it is soooo good you won't believe it.  Everyone who likes shrimp loves it.

Its all good, God bless! Have a good day all.

Glad to see that you rae doing well and "On the Road".  But take warning with the chilli and tiny shrimp!  Both of those things can cause a bit of pain in the early part of post-op.  At least they did for me.  I put those things into the magic bullit and made them into a paste which tasted just as good but didn't cause any pain.  Have a great New Year!

I know....I know....I know!!!!!...........................................................
about men/boys with size 14 feet!!!!

You almost HAVE to buy shoes off the internet.
My son (age 15 and still growing) is now in size 14 men's shoes, and I gave up looking in stores.  I got some great deals at www.eastbay.com for him that he loves, in addition to his football cleats.  Eastbay can be a bit expensive, so I always go straight to the "outlet" section.

Your dip sounds really good, but I would skip the Ritz and maybe eat it with a spoon or on some celery  (I personally prefer the spoon.....).  Lots of protein!!!!

I'm also a bit envious that you can have chili so soon------I was on pureed for 6 weeks!!!

Hello!  I am new to the board!

I am Natalie and just had RNY on December 15 (my 32 birthday!).

I am on 1 oz of protein 3 times a day, but am having shakes for breakfast because I am not ready to stomach solid food that early in the morning.  I am still a little queasy when I wake up.  I hope that goes away....

Anyway - I just celebrated my 5th anniversary (Dec 27) and we have a 3.5 year old son named Henry.  I have already lost about 24 pounds since the 15 and am really happy with the way things are going.  I really have to learn to slow down.  That is my biggest problem.

My husband is going to make burgers tonight, so I am going to try some beef, which I have been craving for a few days.  I am so sick of chicken and seafood.

I turned 39 on Dec. 15th.

I got my RY on Dec. 10th.

Watch the beef. It will sit in your tummy for hours. It may be uncomfortable. Just don't eat too much.  and eat tiny amounts at a time, and chew the crap out of it.

Good luck.

Welcome to OH IL Natalie!
What a wonderful gift you have given yourself....you will find we are a supportive and friendly bunch on this forum........post on the daily roll call so we can get to know you and you can get  to know us.....We are all in this together. I found eating slowly is my downfall. Sometime I can't eat slow enough.....then I get stuck....my fault.....be careful with beef.....

Welcome Natalie!

You have found a great group.  We are glad to have you here.  Congratulations on your progress!  Just remember to follow your doctors guidelines and dont rush to try new foods.  I had a really strict doctor and did not get meat for 2 months and then only chicken.  It was the pits but it worked!

Continue to join us every day!

Welcome Natalie!

Congrats on your weight loss and anniversary.  I remember  the first few weeks after surgery and how sick I was of the same food.  I think that they do it so you don't want to eat .
Keep up the good work.
