Good morning IL friends. I hope you survived yesterday's heavy rain. The roads were so bad yesterday - like a lake. Some were closed too.

I had to drive my Mom to the store and bank yesterday as her car was at the dealer. I spent a lot of time on the road yesterday. I'm happy to say that I can stay in today for a change. YAY!!

No special plans for today other than exercising, laundry and some house cleaning. Tomorrow's a regular work week except for New Years Day. No plans for New Years Eve though.

Stay dry, safe and warm today.

Hugs,
Lucy

Morning. We survived the rain yesterday with a flooded street corner (happens all the time with heavy rain). We had some creative people in the neighborhood that are in construction and they provided a pump with a long fire hose and pumped the water back through our yard, under the big wood wall and to the I-290 expressway. I used my food dehydrator yesterday and made some dried apples and they turned out fantastic.

Dave and I are going to go to a couple of Wally Worlds for a couple of items, The Container Store by Woodfield and then we will walk Woodfield to get out and stretch our legs and get in some walking. Dave has a gift card for Williams and Sonoma and I just want to people watch.

I need to first wipe up the kitchen floor to get the "dried sloopy footprints" from us going in and out during the rain.

Happy New Year

Good morning Chris. Happy to hear that you found a way to get rid of all tha****er. I saw a complex by my sister's house where the entire parking lot was flooded, almost reaching the first floor of their complex. My retention pond is full to the brim. I'm lucky that my house is higher than the pond, so for now I'm safe from water entering my house.

Sounds like you're feeling better and getting back to your routine.

I just finished my exercising and achieved my goal for today. YAY!!!

Now I've got a load of laundry in the washer and enjoying some water.

Take care and enjoy people watching. It can be fun!

Hugs,
Lucy

Hello everyone

I have to go back to work tomorrow.  Yuck.  At least I have another short week this week again, because of New Years.

I can't tell how icy it is outside.  I'm sure it is.  I going to my best friend's house for dinner, but she only lives 3 blocks away.  Other than that I am not doing anything today.

Welll have a nice day.

Good morning Crystal!

I just looked outside my window and it looks pretty good. I have dry sidewalks but I'm sure the street is icy from all the liquid precipitation.

Be careful when walking out. You don't want to fracture anything.

I'll be with you tomorrow working as I am sure some of our IL friends will be too. On a positive note, at least it is a shorter work week.

Have a wonderful day.

Hugs,
Lucy

Good Morning Illini,

We are for the day as well unless I can find a reason to escape.  We canceled church plans this morning as DW has the croup and I thought the roads would be icy.  We were due to change from rain to snow at 4am and then be down to 30 by church time.  Instead we are down to 24 but supposedly headed back up and it is sunny.

I doubt that a short escape will keep me from catching this stuff.  I am not sure which would be worse, my suffering or listening to DW suffering.  We both did well yesterday sticking to SlimFast, one balanced regular size meal and one bag of popcorn.

Stay safe.

Randy

So you have been forgiven?

Good morning Randy.

Hope your DW feels better soon and you don't get the bug! It's hard when you're living in the same house and being close together.

Rest up!

Lucy

Good morning everyone,

Can you believe that crazy weather yesterday?  We actually had tornado warnings and sirens going off.  Our yard looks like a lake with just a thin coat of ice on top.  Yuk.

Christmas was good--my husband got me an ipod and a case that straps to my arm for when I am excercising.  He also gave me cash for new clothing and make up.  He said he knew I wouldn't take money out myself.  My son got me the "magic bullet."  I like to cook and play in my kitchen, so I am excited.

I haven't done anything this weekend, except take down and put away the Christmas decorations.  My fibromyalgia has reared its ugly head--maybe it is the sudden change in the weather?  hmmm.  There is a "House" marathon on today---guess what I am doing today.....

If anyone goes out today, be careful--watch out for ice...

take care, stay warm, stay dry

Hi Teri. What a week we've had! Thunderstorm in December.

You had a great Christmas. I'm sure the weather has something to do with your fibromyalgia acting up. Hope it gets better.

Take care too and stay warm.

Hi all,

I'm Dave. I am a newbie.

Call me crazy, butI like the rain and ice. I just bought a new Honda Element and it is 4X4. Plus all the brakes are computer controlled so I can't spin the tires or slide the tires even when I try. So I like to go out and play in the snow.

I have a hot date today around 2PM. Not really we are getting together for coffee at Caribou Coffee. I am going to have a small decaf. (Believe it or not it is my regular pre-op drink)

I am glad I found this site. I was wanting to talk to some people who have gone, or are going through the same things as I am.

Have a good day.

Dave
