Soggy Saturday Roll Call
It sure is a wet one out there today...I guess it could be worse......
I'm hoping it stops raining early enough so the winds can dry it up before it starts to get cold again.
Tomorrow my husbands family is coming to our house to celebrate
Christmas. One more gathering to complete so I can get back on track and stay there. I'm making a huge pot of chili, with tamales and hot dogs for tomorrow. Taco dip and guacamole for appetizers. I am in control!

I almost have all my Christmas decorations down. Later today I'm going to a Mexican food market in Aurora with my daughter to pick up some ingredients we couldn't find at Meijer. My daughter is going to make me dinner tonight and I'm making dessert (smoothies with my bullet).
I can't believe my five days off is almost over. Oh well I will enjoy what's left of my little vacation.

Its nice to see all tht ice and snow gone for a change. I can deal with the wind and rain for now. We are getting some water in our basement which is a real bummer! We don't usually have a problem but with all this ice and snow melting its coming in from a crack in the chimney from our fireplace down there. I, of course did my "if you would have just fixed it during the summer, this wouldn't be happening" speech to my DH. I don't think he enjoyed that as much as I did lol.
I am planning on going to get my hair cut, colored and highlighted today. I haven't had it done since the end of October! It looks really bad. I am going red again with blonde highlights. Its about 5 different colors right now lol.

I am getting ready to head out to my sister's house in Rockford for a birthday party for her 50th...it was yesterday and she's throwing herself a big party..lol We had a small surprise one for her earlier in the month, but she wanted a big one! lol brat!
Other than that, nothing going on today, we'll most likely be there most of the day. I hope the thunderstorms don't get too bad though because I am probably the only person who had Shepherds that are afraid of thunder! lol
What a mess outside with all that snow melting so fast..makes for a messy backyard for the puppers.

Oh my bring back the snow! Our basement is flooding again and our yard is a lake soon to be an ice skating rink! I know the snow is a pain, but it is much brighter and doesnt flood our house!
Today we are supposed to do Christmas with our friends and take the kids to a movie and then come back here and hang out. I hope the flooding stops so we can go out. I was really looking forward to seeing them.
Yesterday was a totally lazy day, but we all needed it, to recover from the last month of craziness. I feel rested now for the moment, and ready to tackle some new projects for the new year.
I hope everyone stays dry today and no one else is dealing with flooding like we are here!

Well, been around but very, very busy and finally getting over the upper respitory infection that came on me before Christmas. I did not even get to church this year. This is the second year in a row for a knock 'em out drag down cold. The dark cloud that surrounded this year is that I did not go to see my sister in IN due to the freezing rain that we were to get yesterday morning. And we planned on leaving at 3-4am (yesterday morning) to drive to her house right when the weather hit. We could been one of the video highlights on the Chgo news going sideways down the road. 
We right at the moment we have a generator pumping from the street to the I-290 for the flooding that occurs each and everytime that we have a major rain. We right at the moment have "LAKE BENNETT" in our back yard with the water that catches during a heavy rain which is compounded with the frost line. Our neighbors have the same problem on each side. The village thinks that we do not have a problem by the way. But our village clerk (cannot say much because she signs my paycheck
) lives 2 doors from me and does not seem to think there is a problem, by the way she is blond, dip **** that she is.By the way my holiday has been fantastic and relaxing other than the rain today. We did get to Target and Wally World for a couple of holiday finds. And I went to our Wally World and got a couple of sewing patterns to make some fleece hats, glooves and scarfs. I cannot get over the price of Simpicity and McCalls patterns over the years. But, Wally World discounted them to I believe 1/2 the printed price on the envelope. I did treat myself to a dehydrator to make jerky, dried fruits and veggies and other treats like nuts. I have dried apples going as we speak and they smell fantastic. We received a fruit basket with apples and oranges and I went to work this morning.

Good afternoon all! I had a great Christmas, best in years I feel. Hubby did not think he was going to make it but he rolled in about 9am Christmas morning!!! He had to head up to Chicago though yesterday about 4pm to deliver his load this am. He is now headed for Maryland.
We had Christmas at my oldest daughters house, she made a wonderful meal and it was so relaxing for me, I did not have to do any work! Hubby did not like it there but I told him get use to it, its the kids turn now to be host of the holidays Mom is done!
Christmas Eve I went with my mom to my brothers, the one whose wife passed away in Sept.
I have until Jan 6Th off, no grand kids to watch until the 5Th, and I am so bored.
I even lost weight even with all the feast! I got rid of the cookies and started just eating what I am supposed to and then just tasting what I knew was not good for me and it evened out!! WOW., I might make my starting goal yet by my 2 yr surgiversery!
