Good morning and Merry Christmas Illinoisans!

I am up late because I had a half cup of coffee tonight. I knew it when I drank it, but, oh well, I don't have to get up at a certain time tomorrow or even the next few days.

I wish for you that this day brings you peace, joy, good health, wisdom and everything else that you desire. I hope you have a few minutes to reflect on whatever you are grateful for, including  your surgery and this board. In the midst of the hustle and bustle of the day, take a deep breath, just for you!

With all the best wishes,

Connie

Happy holidays, everyone!

Christmas Eve was a major food and carb day, so I think I need to detox for the next few days. Later today, we are heading over to the Spertus Institute for some Jewish fun (we celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah in our house). Food should be pretty straightforward today and less carb-y. Here's to hoping!

I wish you all peace and joy today and always and PLEASE be safe out there in this crazy weather.

Good morning Connie and Nicole and IL friends. Merry Christmas. I can't believe it's Christmas Day.

I decided to go to my sister's on Christmas Eve and spent the night. We watched the Christmas Story on TBS that runs for 24 hours and Mamma Mia on DVD.

I got up early (my usual time) and now enjoying a cup of hot coffee while it's quiet in the house.

Today's plans include dinner at Mom's; that should be interesting. I just pray she doesn't start anything with me. It's going to be my sister, BIL, me and my mom and stepdad.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a wonderful, fun day - whatever your plans are. Drive safe and stay warm.

Christmas Hugs,
Lucy

Merry Christmas everyone

I'm here waiting for my daughter to wake up so we can open presents,  I see mine, I wonder what she got for me???

Later today I visit my sister and her family and then we spend the rest of the day with my daughter's aunt (my ex-sister in-law).  So I will be gone all day today.

Well I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas.

Good Morning Everyone!

I am writing this from home.  Dr R sent me home yesterday.  We got back a little after 2pm.  My major bit of excitement in preparing to leave the hospital was when they took the IV connection out of my hand.  I went to use the WR.  I noticed the gauze was soaked with blood.  I pulled the call button in the WR, then went looking for someone to help me.  When they put pressure on the spot, blood just dripped all over the place.  But, the bleeding stopped quite quickly.  I did get the J-P drain out before leaving the hospital.

On a positive note, Michelle stopped by for a chat.  She is looking very good.

Happy Holidays to everyone!

Good morning all and Merry Christmas!

Today is actually the day after Santa comes in our house.  That is due to Nic going to his other home on Christmas Eve.  Santa was good to the kids and they seemed happy.  Today, Liz, Meredith and I will go to my mom's house where some of our friends will come and we will "hang out" all day and play games.  It's a very casual way to spend Christmas.  I made a huge pot of beef stew for everybody to eat.  My mother-in-law is in town (Liz's grandmother past away on Sunday), and she will join us as well.  She is a vegan, so I made her a beefless beef stew that came out great!  I may actually eat that myself!  It's good to see that the chef skills are still there even if the eating skills are not!  I'm still stuck at around 195 but plan on starting a more active excersize program in January.  Hopefully, that will help me tackle the last 20 pounds.  Santa (Liz) got me a beautiful gold pen for the holiday.  I collect fine pens (mainly fountain pens), and this will be one of the attractions in my collection!  I hope everyone enjoys the day and keeps warm.  To my non-Christmas friends, I wish you all the same joy and love toward your time today as well.

Love,

Paul

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL MY OH FAMILY!

I know I havent been around much lately, lots going on here.  CHristmas eve was at my dad's where he cooked a beautiful meal for us of Crowned Pork roast, double baked potatoes, asparagus, corn and salad.  He let Bakers Square make the pie.  I did well as I was only able to eat a small portion of the pork, some salad and asparagus.  He grilled the asparagus with olive oil and garlic it was awesome.

Today, Christmas is here.  I am making Beef Tenderloin, Lasagna ( a request from my husband), salad, garlic rolls, & veggies.  I made a zucchini version of the lasagna last week for me and froze it, so I wont be tempted by the noodle version today.  We have shrimp ****tail and crab meat puffs for appetizers.  Dessert is of course CHristmas cookies and pie, but Im not worried as I am not really interested in dessert if I have a good meal.

I just wanted to thank all of you for being part of my life for the past almost yr and for helping me in my journey to change my life for the better.  I could not have done this without all of you!  YOu are all a blessing and words cannot express how greatful I am.

May all of you celebrate the reason for the season and have a wonderful new year in 2009!

Love from my family to yours!!!!  Eileen

Merry Christmas to my Illinois family!

To all my family here whether you celebrate Christmas or not I wish you peace, health, and prosperity. May you enjoy the today surrounded by those you love.

I arrived home safely late Monday night and watched the grandkids for two days. They went home last night and will be back here in a few hours. I've got a few things to do to get ready for the company. I still need to catch up reading the posts from the last two days.

Merry Christmas!   Be warm, travel safely and be blessed!

Happy Chrismachak to all.

The sun is out and shining, even if its cold, we couldn't ask for a better day.

My wish for today is for everyone to enjoy themselves, whatever your plans are. Take time for yourself, and if the diets go south for one day, tomorrow starts a new day.Just be careful of what you eat.

Be safe and stay warm.
