2 months post op...
Hello, I'm 2 months post op.. have lost 40lbs.. wondering if anyone has any good recipes for food that can be eaten at this point. I can have chicken, turkey, fish and pasta. And was wondering if alot of you have kept journals of what you eat? Still getting a handle on things. I'm doing pretty good. I guess the thing that bothers me the most at this point is I still seem tired alot. But anyways just thought Id say hi and would love any input ya'll may have.
thanks Stacie
Merry Christmas to all.

Hi Stacie and welcome to the Illinois Board.
We are almost neighbors, nice to "meet" you.
As far as still being tired, that is normal. Your body has been through a MAJOR surgery and many changes.
As far as food, I can't do pasta at all. It takes up WAY too much room in my pouch and is empty calories. Are you eating "regular" food or still in a "soft" stage? Can you have veggies yet? I have lots of recipes, just let me know what you like.
Here are some ideas in the mean time:
Canned chicken breast, tuna and turkey, moistened with a small bit of light mayo is great. You can also moisten with low fat Italian dressing.
Ricotta cheese (or cottage cheese) with a small bit of low sugar (read the label) spaghetti sauce and some shredded mozzeralla, microwaved until hot. Tastes like lasagne without the noodles.
Thinly sliced chicken or turkey tossed with a bit of low fat mayo and sliced almonds.
Egg salad.
Scoop of tuna salad on tomato slice, covered with swiss cheese and broiled until hot.
Chili.
Spread deli meat with light cream cheese and roll up. Can add a pickle or asparagus when doctor allows veggies.
Good luck and feel free to ask all the questions here that you wish----someone will have an answer.
