Monday Roll Call
It is almost 5am. We have -7 degrees with wind chills of -18. Brr! We'll have to go out in that in a couple of hours.
I have my laptop packed up to bring. I figure my DH can hold on to it during surgery. I thought I would want it tomorrow, before he would have a chance to bring it. I still have a couple of things to add to my bag. They are downstairs and I haven't been down there since 5pm yesterday. I did take out excess clothes. If I want them, my DH can bring them before I leave the hospital.
The disinfecting washclothes made me feel itchy for a while. It was hard to fall asleep. One more time with those this morning.
I am hoping all of you have a safe and warm Monday. Take care!
I need to do some prepping today for Christmas Eve. We have between 20 and 30 people coming at some time in the evening. Tomorrow, I will have to wor****il 4:30, then we have a holiday gettogether and dinner to attend, So, tomorrow is totally gone. Wed. morning will be a date with a good friend of mine. This is a annual thing, we go to breakfast and exchange gifts. I will be home by 10 at the latest, to put finishing touches on my buffet for that evening. Thank goodness I use lists and really do have a plan.
Yesterday, I thought it would be a quiet day, wrong! My DD came up to pick up her DD at her fathers, we got about 1 mile from town, and her suv broke down. We were able to limp back to town and picked up my van then continue on. Bad bad roads. We got home and DH was working on the suv, to no avail. So, back out into the weather to take her 1/2 way home to meet her dh, so she could get home. Blowing snow, cold, and dark! Did I say a stress-free day?

So, here we are at Monday, and I am ready to go to work. I can't be any worst then yesterday.

This elf has some magic to create before I leave for work this morning.
Ilse, today is your day. Like I said before. Don't stress over what to take to the hospital. You won't use 1/2 of what you bring. Have an uneventful surgery. And, we are waiting on the other side to welcome you to the bench.
Huggers.
Good luck to you Isle! I know what you mean about those cleansing cloths! They acutally made my skin burn. My hands felt like they were on fire, but the feeling quickly went away. I am just and getting ready for my first day back to work! I am not thrilled about going back to work on such a cold day! It will be good to get back into my regular routine. I am so tired of being in the house. I am sure the novelty will wear off very quickly lol.
Have a great day everyone and stay warm,
Michelle
Ilse I hope your surgery is uneventful today and your recovery is speedy! How exciting for your day to finally be here! I did not sleep much the night before my surgery as I was too darned excited! Welcome to your new life and the wonderful ride that comes with it!
Lisa, it sounds like you really had a horrible day yesterday! By the way, did you find your nuts? Or did you just drive yourself nuts looking for them?

Michelle, what a cold day to start back to work, and on the holiday week as well. At least it will be a short week. Good luck and hope your day goes well.
It is SOOOOOO Cooooold out there. If I hadn't found my favorite warm robe yesterday I would be sitting here freezing.
I am so worried about my cat Fluffer. I talked to the animal shelter yesterday and he had not been turned in. The director says not to give up hope, but I just dont see how an indoor cat can survive in this cold outdoor weather. We shall see.
Work will be freezing today. It is always cold in the building in the winter time -- it is a Morton building with concrete floor and you never seem warm. I dread today after the heat has been turned down over the weekend. I know I will be wearing several layers of thermal underwear and anything else that is warm. Probably look like I have gained 10 pounds.

Stay safe and warm.

Hello everyone
Ilse!!!! How exciting. Christmas is coming early for you. Good luck and wish you all of the success in the world.
My daughter is finally home!!! Although much later than planned. She was two hours late because they had to stop the train because the switch on the track was frozen. Poor Amanda was sitting on a train from 10am till 530pm. I gave her one of her gifts early. She forgot her contact lens case and I bought her a Hello Kitty lens case. So I gave it to her yesterday. I never do that so she was surprised I was giving her a gift early but when she saw what it was she understood.
Did I mention how cold it is outside. BRRRR!!!! Tomorrow is my last day and I'm off the rest of the week!!! I've looking forward to this since October.
Everyone have a nice day and Happy Hanukkah to those that celebrate.
Good luck Ilse! I'm sure it will be a smooth day!
Good morning friends!
And why did we choose to live here in this climate? I used to like the winter. I may have changed my mind!
Yesterday's knitting party went very well, although no one was knitting since all the spouses were there. For a party where only half of the people knew each other, we seemed to have a great time. It started at 3 and the last group left at 8:30 so I think they all had fun. I really do love to entertain and the weird thing is that so does Kay who hated it when I met her. She did most of the preparation including cooking some things I didn't know about. Let's say I'll be leaving them at work today so we don't eat them ourselves!
We have a very quiet holiday planned so this was a bright spot and fun!
Stay warm today.
