Thursday Roll Call

Good Morning everyone!

Well it seems as if we are due some dangerous weather later today and into tomorrow.  The kids are betting on a snow/ice day tomorrow to start their winter break early!  we shall see.  It takes a lot to close our schools.
Yesterday I got almost all the shopping done.  I just need to get a Borders gift card for a grab bag gift and find a few more things for Austyn.  He's actually very hard to buy for!  Then I have to wrap and put the ornaments on my tree...lol  It's all done with the lights and garland and now I will do the ornaments either today or tomorrow.  I am just not in the Christmas Spirit this year and I don't know why.

I need to make a few phone calls today and then maybe run to JC penny.  I have a coupon that is $10 off of a $10 or more purchase.  I could use another warm sweater or I will pick something up for hubby for Christmas.  Other than that, nothing going on here.  Jacob and I made some spritz cookies last night for a "culture day" they are having in school today and we made an extra batch for Christmas too right away.

Have a great, warm and safe day!

Monica

Good morning!

We went to Madison yesterday to see Dr. Garren. The roads were terrible and it's a good thing we planned for lots of extra time! We did have time to go shopping first and to have a nice lunch and check out yarn. Then the clinic turned out to be across the street from Fraboni's deli so we got a roast for Christmas dinner! We went to the clinic in town, not the east side one. All in all it was a fun day. We came home before dark but the roads were fine. We stopped for dinner at Panera's and ran into some friends we like and ended up eating with them. Just a nice day.

It's hard to believe the weather forecast when I look at the sky this morning, but I am preparing too. It remains to be seen who awful it will be. I have a haircut appointment tomorrow morning and I need it! Oh well, it will be what it is. At least I have plenty of yarn!

Have a warm day!

Good morning IL friends. I hear all of you about this lovely weather we are having. Ughhh. I, too am getting tired of it already. Not looking forward to tonight and tomorrow morning's commute.

I've got no special plans for today or tomorrow. Saturday doesn't sound promising - so we'll see.

I can understand people cancelling appointments for tomorrow. It's going to be tough out there.

Hope we hear some good news about Dee's puppy.

Has anyone heard from Pam lately? She's been MIA. Ronna??

Well, time to work.

Take care everyone.

Hugs,
Lucy

Pam was at support group this week. She might be lurking on line and not posting. She looks great!

Hi everyone. Mom got moved to a nursing home yesterday for "rehab" till they can fit her in for her hip replacement. It's been very hard on me to do this. I still have so much shoppig to get done before Christmas and no spirit, time or funds. The fill i  got last friday has done nothing for me. But on the brighter side, if we get snowed in friday, I'll finally get my house cleaned.

Good morning Ilse and the rest of Illinois!

I am working this cold morning and agree that this weather is awful.  I can't believe that we have another 2-3 months of this!!!!!

I got almost all of my shopping done last night, I just have to exchange a belt for Todd today and get a wireless router for the kids' computer and I am done shopping!  That means that if I get snowed in, I will have what I need at home.  Now, I just have to put it all together.  We are doing some "gifts in a jar",  ornaments, caramel brownies, hopefully candles and I need to bottle up some of the hot sauces I made.  That should keep us busy.  I can get Liv to wrap some stuff, so that will be helpful too.

Todd's back is still hurting him and I think Liv will live.......  She is going to be sore for a bit, but I am kind of worried about him, maybe he will get a heating pad for Christmas.

I am preparing to be snowed in, but you just never know in northern IL.

Everyone stay safe and warm!

Tell someone that you love them!

Good afternoon Ilse and the rest of the Illinois forum,

I hope all of you remain safe this evening and manana.  DW starts her vacation this afternoon so we will not have anything else to fit into by someone elses schedule precluding the unexpected until the New Year.  The exception will be getting out to see Light at Willow as well as our volunteer activities there.

Ice and Thunder together will be a new experiance for me. Does that come with a light show?

Stay warm

Randy
