Dr. Denham @ NorthShore

I have chosen Dr. Denham up at Evanston as my surgeon. I've only met with him for my initial consult but he was awesome . He was extremely down to earth and very informative. He actually managed to explain to me why RNY was better for me than lap band due to my diabetes.

Anywho, my info was submitted to the ins co on Dec 3 so I'm waiting patiently and praying for an approval.

I wanted to know if anyone out there has used Dr. Denham and what their experience was. Also once your insurance company approved you did the doctor's office inform you with a phone call or did you get a letter/phone call from the insurance company????? And most importantly, once you received approval how soon were you able to have your surgery?????? I'm assuming that the soonest one could get in is 3 weeks after getting approval. All of your info would be greatly appreciated!

 I don't know anything about BCBS or your doctor.  I have Aetna.  I called them a few days after submission.  I called back about 4 days later and got word that the surgery was scheduled.  I then called my doctor's office and they contacted the insurance the next day to verify.  Once verified, I got my surgery date.  I was trying to get surgery at the time the school district I work for has winter break.  I don't know if I could have gotten an earlier date or not.  They did say at this time of year, it gets very busy.

My sister had Dr Denham for her lap band and other surgeries. I saw him in an office visit when I lived in Chicago for a bit.
He is very personable. Ask him about his load of kids!!!!!!
