I met with Dr. Viello @ Univ of Illinois in May for an initial consultation for RNY. First I met with his nurse who gave me basic info and took my info for him. When Dr. Vitello came in he was great, very personable, took time with me to answer my many questions, Gave me all his numbers including cell phone. His nurse said he returns all his calls. I was very impressed with him. He also had me meet with his Nurtitionist after. She gave me basic guidelines info on a sheet of paper. Not alot there. I got more info on here and from my clinic's nutritionist. I had planned having my surgeyr there but right now my pcp, endocrinologist & nutritionist don;t feel I need weight loss surgery. I am still enrolled in my clinic's metabolic program until February. It is a year long program. I have lost 52 pounds since last Christmas.
Good Luck to you

Alexus, I just want to check something...
You have asked here before about the duodenal switch and Drs. Alverdy and Prachand. They are at the "University of Chicago" in Hyde Park on the south side of Chicago NOT the "University of Illinois at Chicago," which is on the west side of the city. U of I at Chicago does the RNY, NOT the DS.
Just want to make sure you are meaning "U of I at Chicago" now in this post. Which do you want to know about?
